The harvest season for our Spring planting of peas is drawing to a close. We tried out a new variety of sugar snap peas this year, and we have a new favorite! In the past, our snap peas have gone bitter, wilted in the sun, and the shells have become tough. This was especially true if they were left on the vine a little too long... oops!

Cascadia has been very good to us this year, and an extra perk is that this variety was developed at Oregon State University, right here in the Willamette Valley. We love a local variety. Thanks, Territorial Seed Co!

🩷 We had a baby! 🩷

Our little girl arrived last month, and we are loving this time at home to care for our kiddos and focus on the farm. This summer, we are only doing a small batch of meat birds and a family garden to test different varieties of our favorite crops for potential market production. I am also using this time at home to work on the administrative side of the farmstead until I have to go back to my day job in the Fall.

We are moving slowly through the research and foundation phases of our farmstead to start our family and develop our business intentionally with multiple income streams to support our dream. Stick around for updates on what we're learning and growing!🌿
