Advice from an old farmer:
Fix the fence before the cows find the hole.
Close every gate you open, even if you're "just running through."
The quickest way to bring rain is to cut hay.
Keep a spare for whatever broke last time.
Don't count the crop until it's in the bin.
Wave at everybody. One day they might be the one pulling you out of the ditch.
A good neighbor shows up before you call.
Never trust a quiet bull or a dry forecast.
Check the water one more time before you go in for the night.
Your kids learn more from how you treat your animals than from anything you tell them.
Work hard, but stop now and then to watch the sun go down over the field.
And leave the land a little better than you found it

So I met this cutie this week and he is major crushing on me….but a little shy. He had the full yard to roam or explore with the rest of his herd on a gorgeous fall day…but he chose to stay close and that tail was non-stop. Meet Leo, he is one of the herd at Chicagoland Pig Rescue and cute as he can be.
