ROC and I shared a love for Dolly. She and I were birthday twins and ROC won a costume class wearing a GINORMOUS pink bra and blonde wig, lead in by “WIllie”

ROC passed just 5 days prior to Dolly. He had a “prophet’s thumbprint” whorl on his neck meaning legend says he was attached to deep luck. I am pretty sure he was chosen to es**rt her through the pearly gates in a carriage of butterfly wings

He and his Momma Beth gave me my very first experience of driving just a few weeks ago. WHAT an experience that was. To watch him transition from super chill dude to so very proud hitched up and take us down the road. He LOVED being driven and people seeing him. THANK YOU BW for giving me that memory to relive forever.

As much love as he brought to his family, the wedding couples he carried making memories of their special days and those quiet behind the scenes times of just “being”…..he will be FOREVER MISSED…but oh so loved. Peace, Love and thundering hooves ROC.

My time with the BIGS is pretty special! They have zero clue how ginormous in stature they are. Like giant puppies, happy to see you, looking for snacks and love getting their neck scratched.

I promise I haven’t gotten lost…just been a little busy with storm clean-up, McGyver techniques and taking care of the bestest, funnest critters. Had to share a view from tonight though while covering the shavings bunker…a

The founder had been on the island six months when a days-old piglet found her.

A pig sanctuary on Hawaii's Big Island is looking for live-in caretakers. Twenty hours of work a week, and you get a cabin on the property with power and wifi. No experience needed, but they want three to six months, so it is not a holiday.

The work is feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures and keeping an eye on the animals. The rest of the week is yours, and Volcanoes National Park is nearby.

Selah's Pig Sanctuary is named after a piglet. The founder had been on the island less than six months when a days-old animal reached her, its mother killed. It kept her company through the pandemic. She says they saved each other.
