🌷 Happy Spring from the coop!

After what felt like the longest winter in Wisconsin history, we’re finally thawing out and the ladies are back on the payroll. No more freeloading!

We did take a hit this winter thanks to a sneaky little weasel who treated our coop like an all-you-can-eat buffet. Nature is wild, and we definitely lost a few feathered friends, which was tough. But the flock is bouncing back, the sun is shining again, and the coop is full of clucks, drama, and fresh eggs.

Spring chores are underway, mud is everywhere, and we are back from winter hibernation; stronger, slightly more tired, and very happy to see green again.

Thanks to everyone who checked in over the cold months. We’re excited for warmer days, longer evenings, and baskets full of eggs once more.

🚨 Employee of the Month: Socks (aka Socksie Cat)

He may not be a chicken, but Socksie Cat has officially clawed his way to the top, earning this month’s coveted Employee of the Month spot at Mother Clucker.

While the flock flaps around in a feathery frenzy, Socks is quietly handling business; keeping chipmunks and mice out of the feed bins like a true professional.

Need emotional support after a long day? Also Socks. He’ll drop whatever he’s doing (including sleeping in the sun) for a good cuddle session. He's not just a farm cat, he’s a full-time farm hand with benefits (pets, mostly).

Now, let’s address the elephant in the yard: the rabbits. We’ve kindly asked Socks to leave them alone… and we’ve tried rescuing a few. But he’s a cat with convictions and remains firm in his belief that bunnies are fair game. We disagree. He doesn’t care.

Despite his bunny blunders, Socks remains a vital part of the crew. Loyal, hardworking, dangerously charming and always covered in just enough dirt to prove he’s been busy.

Congrats, Socksie. You’re not a chicken, but you’re one of us. 💪🐱

We’re Back, Cluckers! 🐔

Sorry for the radio silence... We’ve been knee deep in chicken chaos over here! With just under 50 feathered freeloaders now in the flock, we’ve been hard at work building a brand-new run and coop to keep the ladies happy, safe, and slightly less judgmental.

A lot of sweat, feathers, and questionable decisions went into this upgrade, but hey, it's almost done! Kinda. Maybe. Close enough.

Meanwhile, our tiniest farmhand (aka my daughter) has been faithfully collecting eggs every day like a tiny, overworked chicken concierge. 🥚💕 She hasn’t missed a beat, unlike the adults around here... 👀

We’ll be announcing a new Employee of the Month soon 🏆 (as soon as we figure out who hasn’t escaped, pecked the dog, or squawked at us over the feed situation).

Thanks for sticking around and supporting our little hobby! Big things coming soon, or at least bigger coops and louder clucks.

After weeks of patiently sitting on her little treasure, one tiny cutie has finally hatched - and let me tell you, this fluffy baby is cuter than a speckled egg on Easter morning! 🥹🐥

Proud papa Brad is strutting around like he just won “Rooster of the Year” (and honestly, we’re not arguing). 🏆🐓
