The Marines put in some work this morning at Hope Horses, Inc. who provides therapeutic horsemanship programs to individuals with special physical, social, cognitive, and emotional needs.
Alpha Battery cleared brush, stained some benches, laid down mulch, and even did a little pruning. There may have also been an impromptu homage to the flag raising on Iwo Jima.
Hope Horses staff was then presented with a Marine Corps flag signed by the unit members to be displayed in the barn. #Kingsofbattle #semperfi

I am extra excited about this one! My first fully tooled and hand constructed piece. This sunflower checkbook cover is lined with pigskin and hand stitched. I learned so much making this piece and can’t wait for the next one!
She will be up for grabs at Hope Horses, Inc. silent auction starting September 30 for anyone who is interested!

Sister Kathleen baked a beautiful Orange Italian Cream Cake today to donate for tomorrow night's Hope Horses, Inc. fundraiser. We wish we could sample it, but we'll refrain and send it whole and entire over to Hope tomorrow.
(For those unfamiliar with Hope Horses, it is a therapeutic horsemanship program situated on a portion of our grounds down Convent Rd. from the monastery. We enjoy sharing our grounds and a good friendship with this wonderful program.)
We may have been closed yesterday, but Alabama Farm Credit employees used the day to help give back, and teach their kids the unique ways agriculture can help the community.
We spent the morning volunteering at Hope Horses, Inc. in Cullman, AL., which provides therapeutic horsemanship programs to individuals with special physical, social, cognitive, and emotional needs.
Stalls were cleaned out, equipment was deep cleaned, and we learned about horses, like Greyson, who help people with physical and emotional special needs. Individuals ranging from kids to senior citizens utilize this program.
We were honored to be able to donate to this organization to help further their plans for the future of Hope Horses.
