Good Morning from the Cove!! We hope everyone is enjoying the warmer weather. What has come with it is Mud. Dont fret:) Stop in & take a look at our Muck boots. They are not only for the cold. We also have boot & shoe covers & Tingleys.
I know its only January, but mild temps make us think Spring. It's not to early to think about garden or flower planting, especially if you are starting plants inside. We have potting mix, plant food, starter trays, gardening tools & more in stock.

Good Morning from the Cove. Its a little foggy out there. We have looked at hard keepers & easy keepers. Now lets take a look at the majortiy of everyday horses. They are not fat, they are not thin, they really dont have special needs. Good news is any of the feeds we carry that Tribute or Blue Seal makes can suit the everyday horse. This really comes down to personal preference. Do you perfer a textured or a pellet, would you like some built in joint supplement, Where would you like your protein, fat & fiber level. Do you like what you are feeding already but want to add vitamins, minerals, or protein. Do you want the built in pre & probioticts or are you already supplementing that. We carry many options, Tribute Kalm & Ez & Kalm & Ez Plus(built in joint supplements), Maturity Pellet & textured, Kalm Ultra, Essential K, Kalm & Ez textured & Sr. All are formualted to be low starch, low sugar, pre & probotics. We also have Blue Seal Sentinal Sr, & Performance Ls. These are extruded w/ built in pre & probotics, chelated minerals. Contender pellet, & Dynaslty Pro pellet. Stop in or give us a call. Good Morning from the Cove. Beautiful day out there. Today we would like to look at feeds for the hard keepers. If you struggle with their weight yr round then I know you are dreading the onset of winter.
Tribute Kalm Ultra may be the way to go. This feed is high fat at 12%, a 12% protein & a 12% fiber. Formulated in a low sugar pellet so horses cannot sort micronutrients w/ extruded grains for improved digestion, equiferm dry yeast acting as both a pre & probiotic. Balanced omega 3 & 6 fatty acids & optimum levels of antioxidants. All of this working together reducing stress on the digestive tract & improving overall gut health. This is also a good choice for horses w/ insulin resistance, laminitis, ulcers, obestiy & tying up. Please feel free to ask question or tell me your horses need.

While we are on the subject of equine nutrition, I had the opportunity to met w/ Jeffrey Miller, our territory sales manager from Blue Seal. This was a very informative & educational meeting on how the Blue Seal feeds are formulated & made. I am still processing this info & making notes for questions I may have or info that I only remember parts of. But in a nut shell I learned that the Blue Seal feeds are made from only top quality grains, nothing ever substituded to make it to the guaranteed analysis, in other words you will get the exact feed everytime w/ no change in the recipe. If we are talking hard keepers the Sentinel LS at 12% protein, 12% Fat & 20% fiber may work for you & your horse. This is an extruded feed, low starch low sugar, pre & probiotics, balanced vits & mins just to list a few. Here at CDM we also carry Sentinel SR, Dynasty Pro & Contender. Again please feel free to ask questions. If I dont know the answer I will do my best to get the answer.
