Throw out the rulebook and hold the Bourbon- we’ll take our Mint Julep with Black Tot Rum! Because there is no 'right' way to make a cocktail, but there is a 'right' way to build flavor!

50ml Black Tot Finest Caribbean
1x teaspoon of sugar syrup
1x large handful of fresh mint leaves

Add all ingredients to julep cup or glass; lightly muddle the mint, add crushed ice and churn - top up with more crushed ice and garnish with a bouquet of fresh mint.

A warm MISA welcome to our friend, Margaux Braastad Arbo, Sales Director and owner of Vignobles Arbo. Margaux and her brother Dorian represent the fifth generation of their family to operate the Arbo vineyards, which were founded in 1900 by their great great grandfather, Amand Puyanché. This dynamic duo is dedicated to building on the work and legacy of their parents and grandparents, including the essential quest of listening to nature and protecting their terroir; their land and it's soils, after all, form the identity of their wines. Special care is taken of the environment to nurture its biodiversity by planting trees and shrubs around the vineyard to attract wildlife, keeping 100% grass cover in the vineyards, working with shepherds to have their sheep and goats graze November - April, and Agroforestry practices. This has earned them a HVE 4 certification and ISO 1400.

Todays's tasting included Château Puyanché 2019, and Arbo Malbec 2022, Château Godard Bellevue 2020 and Château Puyanché Blanc 2023. The flagship of the estate, Château Godard Bellevue, produces a complex, rich wine that is elegantly balanced. Godard Bellevue's 2020 vintage has been noticed by Wines Enthusiast (92), Yves Beck (93), and Concours de Bordeaux (Gold).

This was a very happy Friday for us at the MISA headquarters in Dallas as we welcomed Philippe Pascal and Guillaume Marko from Domaine du Cellier aux Moines and Domaine Mont Bessay.

The Cellier aux Moines of Givry is one of the oldest estates with 9 centuries in the heart of Burgundy. Having been the Abbey of La Ferté’s wine-producing property for nearly 7 centuries, and then owned by the same family for 2 centuries following the French Revolution, it was purchased in 2004 by Philippe and Catherine Pascal. Guillaume Marko joined Cellier aux Moines in 2015 as head winemaker & viticulturist. He graduated as an oenologist (DNO) with experience as junior oenologist at Domaine de la Romanée Conti, Arnoux Lachaux & Frédéric Magnien in Cote de Nuits.

Domaine du Cellier aux Moines consists primarily of the 5 hectares of the Clos du Cellier aux Moines, one of Givry’s historic Premier Crus, planted with Pinot Noir. Since the taking over of the Cellier’s vines in 2006, the team stopped using herbicides and pesticides, returning to regular ploughing of the soil to encourage deeper roots, stimulate soil organisms, and let Nature take its course. The Domaine practices whole brunch fermentation using only natural yeasts, The ageing process is carried out for at least 2 winters on the lees. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.

Pédesclaux embodies the depth that is the quintessence of Pauillac, balanced by a unique sensuality. With each vintage, the painstaking work on these excellent plots pays off, while the revolutionary equipment in the winery enables the wine to develop its own unique personality.
Since 2009, owner Jacky Lorenzetti and the team shaping Château Pédesclaux’s regeneration have made a series of crucial decisions in both the vineyard and in the winery. The vineyards have been restructured and important new plots acquired, and the land is now worked using environmentally friendly methods that achieve the official stamp of organic certification. This comprehensive evolution is visible in the unique architecture of both the Château and the winery, which is 100% gravity-fed: a stunning technological accomplishment carefully designed to allow the fullest possible expression of the Pédesclaux terroir.

Mr. Jules Coulaud, Head of Business development in the Americas for Domaines Henri Martin, has been working alongside MISA Sales Ambassadors to show wines from Château Gloria, Château Saint-Pierre, and Château de Fieuzal this week, with stops in Atlanta, Houston, and Dallas! Domaines Henri Martin are continuously developing and expanding in the same dynamics desired by their pioneering founder, Henri Martin; always in a family approach, continued by his daughter Françoise and his son-in-law, Jean-Louis Triaud, as well as his grandchildren, Vanessa and Jean.

We greatly appreciate Mr. Coulaud's visit, his support in the market, and for taking the time out of his busy schedule for a masterclass at MISA HQ.

MISA HQ was delighted to receive Annabelle and Olivier Sumeire from Famille Sumeire, a star rosé producer that is shining bright in the new appellation, Sainte-Victoire AOP. MISA has enjoyed a long, fruitful partnership with Famille Sumeire and their wines that show beautifully under the Texan sun.
Annabelle provided a wonderful masterclass, teaching us about Cru Sainte-Victoire and Sumeire's 2025 vintages: "M" IGP Méditerranée, and from Côtes de Provence Cru Sainte-Victoire, Elie Sumeire and Domaines Sumeire. All feature bright acidity, a precise minerality and are bursting with freshness, like the Mistral Winds blowing across Sainte-Victoire. They also shared a very special red wine from Sainte-Victoire with us, César à Sumeire, with a label designed by César Baldaccini. Thank you very much to Annabelle and Olivier for leading this amazing tasting, and for their work in the DFW area with our MISA Sales Ambassadors.

Today was a very special International Whiskey Day as we welcomed Mr. Sukhinder Singh, co-founder and co-owner of Elixir Distillers, and Douglas Cook, their senior brand ambassador, to MISA Imports headquarters in Dallas. Elixir Distillers is an independent family business that has been crafting spirits in Islay, Scotland for over 20 years. During today's tasting, we were introduced us to their famous range of products: Elements of Islay Blended Scotch Whiskies, Black Tot Rums, and the Port Askaig family of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies, including their award-winning flagship bottle, the Aged 8 Year-Old Single Malt with Gold Medals from the International Spirits Challenge, Spirits Business Global Scotch Whisky Masters, and IWSC. Elixir Distillers are inspired by a passion for flavor and guided by an obsession to detail to make every drop exceptional. Fearless at Heart. Independent by nature. Exceptional in spirit.

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, we experienced a curated whiskey tasting event at MISA HQ. We sampled a flight of premium Irish whiskeys with Matt Mize, MISA COO, who walked us through the details of Irish Whiskey production, tasting techniques, and flavor profiles for each bottle.
