This is Where the Cowboy Rides Away!
We have sold Bentley’s Batch 5
In April 2014, at the urging of our kids, Gale and I started Bentley’s Batch 5 to give us something to do in our retirement. It was never meant to really be a business. However, much to our surprise over the last 9 years our products have been sold in 46 states and 4 countries outside of the United States. I know my Dad would have been shocked to know that so many people around the country and other parts of the world fell in love with his Worcestershire based Barbecue Sauces and so was everyone in the Bentley’s Batch 5 family.
In 2015, our new Sweet ‘N Heat Barbecue Sauce came out and it’s been a customer favorite ever since. In fact, it has been the number one selling barbecue sauce in the Go Texan store at the State Fair of Texas ever since it was introduced. And in 2016, Gale came up with two Bloody Mary Mixes that became so popular that they now out sell our barbecue sauces.
Needless to say, Bentley’s Batch 5 has become a business! However, we are now in our 70s and it’s been harder and harder to carry out the duties our growing company deserves. The idea of selling was very hard. We have met so many great customers over the years and it’s always heartwarming when they tell us how much they love our products and how much their customers also love them. So, deciding to sell Bentley’s Batch 5 has been a difficult decision to make.
Over the last month we decided we did not want to sell our company to just anyone. We wanted it to go to someone we knew. Someone who would honor and respect our family’s history and our products. That’s why we were excited when our great friends Cyndi and Rob Stewart told us they wanted to buy Bentley’s Batch 5 and move our wonderful company forward.
Cyndi and Rob own Deep Fork Foods, and they already have some really amazing products you should try. In fact, their rubs are some of my favorite and I use them whenever I grill or use our smoker. And while Deep Fork Foods is based in Oklahoma, Bentley’s Batch 5 will remain a Texas company and our products will continue to be made in Texas.
Gale and I are excited to have Cyndi and Rob take over our company and we believe they are the right people to grow Bentley’s Batch 5 into the future. We will, however miss talking and meeting with all of you, our customers. Many of you have become really good friends and we want you to know that you can trust Cyndi and Rob to continue the great customer service you deserve.
This is where the cowboy, and cowgirl, truly do ride away. Your support over the last nine years has really kept us going. We will miss you!
