Balanced Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1-2 cups of unsweetened coconut milk (If you choose to skip the protein powder, we recommend using soy milk for added protein)
1⁄2 banana
2 tablespoons of peanut butter
2 cups of spinach
1 teaspoon of chia seeds

Instructions
Add everything to a blender and press go! Start with 1 cup of coconut or soy milk and add more as needed (depending on the blender, you may need the additional liquid for it to blend smoothly).

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients
1 cup frozen strawberries
1 banana frozen
3/4 cup soy milk or any other plant milk
maple syrup optional (to taste)
ice cubes optional

Instructions
Place all ingredients into a high powdered blender and blitz until smooth and creamy.
If you’d like your smoothie a little sweeter, add up to 1 tablespoon of maple syrup or agave nectar.
To make your smoothie thicker, add an additional 1/4 cup frozen strawberries or a handful of ice cubes! Enjoy!

Perfect Pineapple Smoothie

Ingredients
3 cups frozen pineapple (or fresh, peeled and cubed)
1/2 banana
¾ cup water
½ cup milk (or almond milk or oat milk)*
5 ice cubes
1 ½ tablespoons fresh squeezed lime juice (or lemon juice)

Instructions
Place all ingredients except 1 cup frozen pineapple in a blender. Blend until smooth, stopping and stirring as necessary.
Add the final cup of frozen pineapple and blend again. Eat immediately or store in a sealed jar for 1 day.

Mint and Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients
¼ cup red seedless grapes, frozen
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce, or to taste
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
3 frozen strawberries
1 cup cubed fresh pineapple
3 fresh mint leaves

Directions
Step 1
Place frozen grapes, applesauce, and lime juice into a blender. Puree until smooth. Add frozen strawberries, cubed pineapple, and mint leaves. Pulse a few times until the strawberries and pineapple are in small bits.

It refers to getting your calories in liquid form, like in a smoothie, instead of solid form, as in when you eat whole foods. Drinking your calories is that it is linked to weight gain. One reason is that your brain takes a while to realize that you are full.
