As we were busy prepping the grounds for our first event of the season, I was struck by this stump. This stump that was cut way down, likely because it had been damaged in a storm. I looked at this tree that suddenly had this big, beautiful sprout, full of leaves and was reminded-nature always finds a way. After this tough year of uncertainty, not knowing whether or not we would make it through to the other side of this pandemic, like this stump, we have found a way. Here’s to the beginning of a wonderful year of health, happiness, and of course, hope!

Wow, what a year. We sure have missed seeing all the smiling faces, the smell of barbecue, and the laughter that once filled our facility in Dallas. Well, good news! As our state begins to open up, and as Covid numbers continue to decline, we are working to begin producing events at our ranch again.

We have new Covid protocols in place to keep our staff and our guests as healthy and protected as possible. If you're as ready as we are, give us a call or send us a message, and let us know how we can work with you today!

I am deeply saddened to announce the State Fair of Texas will not open for the 2020 season. The Fair celebrates all things Texan, and with that comes...being friendly, lending a helping hand, looking out for others, and giving a warm welcome, like my favorite, “Howdy, Folks.” This year those essential traits of being a Texan matter more than ever. We must take care of our neighbors and loved ones.

The State Fair’s commitment to our nonprofit mission of promoting agriculture, education, and community involvement will continue. In addition, we commit to maintaining as many participation opportunities as possible for both livestock and creative arts - stay tuned for more updates on these contests.

We have celebrated all things Texan for the last 134 years and plan on continuing this tradition next year, and for years to come. Until then, we as a Fair family, appreciate your understanding, and overall love and dedication toward the State Fair of Texas.

Thank you to everyone who came out to The Southern Cross yesterday for our Annual DSG Family Picnic! The sun was shining and our families were smiling. It was so good to see everyone. We look forward to seeing you all at our upcoming programs & events!

💙
ICYMI-Did you know that we have an event center on-site that can comfortably seat 600 guests? But more importantly, did you know that event center also has its own petting zoo with a trained pig?! ♥️🐷 The Southern Cross
Yesterday, was CareCenter's summer finale field trip to The Southern Cross, closing out the summer with a bang 👊💥!
For the past seven 7️⃣weeks, on Thursdays, the CareCenter Team and volunteers came together to take small groups of 12 children or less on various field trip adventures. The smaller setting allowed us to give each child personal ministry and individual attention.

The heart 💜 of CCM and our Executive Director, Eldred Sawyer, is that we continue to remain connected with the families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 we served prior to the pandemic (families from our Afterschool program and previous summer camp). We saw this as a perfect opportunity to keep the gospel before them, love on them, and encourage their hearts ♥️ like never before!

We will keep our friends and partners updated with future events and opportunities to volunteer throughout the school year. We are closely watching the news and making plans to safely and adequately continue connecting with our community.

"THANK YOU", to the following for hosting our vision:
The Southern Cross, Shenaniganz, Dallas Zoo, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
and the farm of Pastors Eldred & JeanMarie Sawyer.

"THANK YOU" to the following volunteers for supporting our vision:
Ricky McCormick, Vangie McCormick, Ebony Parker, Ocie Jefferson, Mannie Jefferson, Susana Bazaldua, Joey Kelly Wilkie, Texas Vets Roofing, Rikkie Bailey, Dorothea Shields, Andrea Albrecht, Julianna Albrecht, Ella Mae Wilson, Zach Wilson, Maria Crane

"THANK YOU" to our partners for funding the vision:
19 Ministries, Milestone, C3 Trinity Dallas, Ted Deen, HIS Plan, Barbara Council-Day, Greg Turner, Uriah Stake, United With Love Outreach
We appreciate The Southern Cross for showing our CareCenter Team 👫 and camp kids 👯‍♀️ another wonderful field trip experience yesterday! CareCenter accompanied 10 children, from our community center programs, for a wonderful time of one-on-one 👥fellowship and 🎊fun activities. We started our day with fishing 🚣‍♀️ and volleyball🏐, then lunch🌭🍔🍪🥤, paddle boats, human foosball🏉 and closed with swimming🏊‍♂️.

These are memories our kids will never forget! CareCenter remains vigilant to keep the proclamation of the gospel before those we serve and make disciples of those we reach, all while responding to the physical and emotional needs of many where the need is great.
These beautiful children will move on this summer knowing that Jesus never leaves nor forsakes them🌈☀️. He is ever-present and His love 💛endures!

🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️Thank you to all the volunteers and donors that make this possible, if you would like to help offset the cost of a field trip, sponsor a child, or volunteer, please ☎️call us at 214.824.9852 ext 106 or go to:
💻www.carecenterministries.org to "Donate". Please note: "Field Trips".
Laughing ...... screaming...... excitement was in the air yesterday as the CareCenter Team and volunteers took a small group of children on a field trip to The Southern Cross. Weekly field trips are scheduled each Thursday, CareCenter endeavors to stay in close fellowship and not lose our connection to the families from our After-School Program and our past summer camps. OUR CHILDREN HAD A BLAST YESTERDAY AND MEMORIES WERE MADE WITH JESUS AT THE FOREFRONT! Our faithful friends and partners, along with our volunteers, made it possible for each kid to: 👇🏼❤️❤️👇🏼💦 swim⛰ Rock Climbing🎣 fishing 🎈 water balloon launcher fight 🏒foosball and air hockey 🍗great Bbq lunch 🍿 popcorn 🍦 snow cones
💡 A special “Thank you” to our faithful friends and partners at Milestone and 19 Ministries for your sponsorship of today’s event!! Your investment in CareCenter Ministries’ children is eternal. 💡
Thank you to MGA Homecare for sponsoring this year's World Down Syndrome Day Picnic on March 21 at the The Southern Cross Ranch. Because of their generosity, we are now able to add this exciting, new bungee trampoline to our list of activities. It's not too late to register or sponsor the event. Learn more and register at http://downsyndromedallas.org/world-down-syndrome-day-family-picnic.
Planning your Christmas party? Add a casino! Our casino games with professional dealers—including Black Jack, Craps, Roulette, Slots, and Poker/Texas Hold ‘Em—are a great way to make your holiday celebration fun and memorable.
