John Adams wrote in 1776 that he hoped Independence Day would be celebrated “with pomp and parade … bonfires and illuminations.”

Two hundred and fifty years later, we’re still doing exactly that. Here’s to another year of freedom, good stories, cold beer, and good bourbon. Cheers, America 🇺🇸🥃

Last nights pour. Smoke Wagon Triple Sevens. Haven’t had any of their distillate in a while and this was one of the few Rare & Limted releases I didn’t get to try.

Rich caramel, Dark cherry, Baking spices, a little orange zest. A hint of rye spice that shows up more on the finish than the nose.

And a tater medal hanging on the bottle.

Must be time to sit down and do some serious writing… **rs
