Tonight, our Bordeaux adventure comes to an end. The San Martiño family will head home with suitcases that somehow became heavier—filled with wine, Cognac, a few treasures, and enough stories to improve with every retelling. 🍷🇫🇷

Over the past days, we have wandered through vineyards, strolled ancient villages, shared unforgettable meals, laughed with old friends, and made new ones. These are the moments that remind us that life is not measured by the years we collect, but by the memories we create and the people with whom we share them.

While this journey ends tonight, another adventure is already beginning to take shape. That is the wonderful thing about life: every chapter eventually closes, but until it does, we should savor every glass, every sunset, every friendship, and every blessing God places in our path.

For now, we raise one final toast to Bordeaux—to beautiful places, good wine, cherished friends, and the joy of knowing that the best stories are often the ones still waiting to be written. ❤️🍷✨

La Cité du Vin as seen from the banks of the Garonne River — a stunning tribute to the world of wine, where history, culture, science, and passion all swirl together under one remarkable roof. A magnificent museum that celebrates not just Bordeaux, but the soul of wine itself. 🍷🇫🇷

Today, we bow our heads in gratitude and remembrance for the fallen heroes who answered a call greater than themselves. They stood in the face of fear so others could live in hope. They gave their tomorrows so we could have our todays. Memorial Day is not only about mourning loss — it is about preserving memory. May their bravery continue to inspire us to live with greater kindness, gratitude, humility, and love for one another.

Next week, a group of our wonderful customers — along with our winemaker and working with Platinum Travel Advisers — will be heading to Bordeaux, France in search of fine wine, buttery croissants, charming villages, unforgettable meals, and friendships that somehow grow stronger after the second bottle. 🍷🇫🇷🥐

Meanwhile, San Martiño Winery here in Rockwall, Texas will be OPEN. The wine will still be flowing, the doors will stay open, and Walter will be faithfully watching over the winery after sadly discovering he did not get his passport in time for the trip.

The group will experience river cruising, château visits, long dinners, questionable attempts at speaking French, and absolutely no calorie counting. We wish everyone a safe journey and an unforgettable adventure through one of the world’s most beautiful wine regions.

The table for our monthly Supper Club is set, the candles are glowing, and the wine is breathing softly in anticipation. Soon, friends will gather, stories will unfold, glasses will rise, and the evening will slip gently into memory. It promises to be one of those rare nights that lingers long after the last course is served.

Sunday, May 17th, starting at 3 pm. Mark Wayne Glasmire live. Free. With a voice as familiar and comforting as an old friend, and a warmth that feels like the first perfect evening of spring, Mark Wayne Glasmire has a rare gift for reaching straight into the listener’s heart. His songs are layered with rich, soaring harmonies that echo the timeless spirit of The Eagles and Crosby, Stills & Nash, while still carrying a sound entirely his own.

His songwriting speaks to something universal—love, loss, hope, memory, and the simple beauty of everyday life. There is an honesty in his music that makes people feel seen and understood. Offstage, Mark carries that same authenticity. He is the kind of artist who makes strangers feel like old friends, the kind of person you could easily spend an evening with, sharing stories, laughter, and a beer or two as the music plays long into the night.

Sunday, May 17th at 3 pm. Grilled Bratwursts. Nothing says summer quite like the smoky aroma of bratwursts sizzling on the grill and a glass of wine in hand. We will be serving juicy, traditional Bratwursts—simple, hearty, and perfect for a relaxing Sunday afternoon at the winery. Price: $4 per brat

Come hungry, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy an easy afternoon of great food, music, and good company at San Martiño Winery.

Finally—a break in the clouds. Sunshine, dry ground, and a long list waiting: spraying, leaf pulling, tying vines… and that’s just the start. Throw in mowing, trimming, and the rest of the never-ending dance.

A vineyard doesn’t pause—it just gives you better weather to catch up.

Hail hammered our private home, but the winery stood under nothing more than rain—one of those small mercies you don’t take for granted.
Now the skies threaten again, with talk of softball-size hail this afternoon.
So we work in the quiet between storms, fixing the front fence that nearly gave up and steadying the place. In North Texas, the rhythm is simple: weather tests you… and you answer back.

First trim of the season—and the vines are already in overdrive. All this rain and humidity have them growing wild, thickening the canopy faster than we can keep up. Today is all about opening things up, letting air and sunlight move through, doing everything we can to stay ahead of fungus and rot.

But truth be told, if this weather doesn’t give us a break, even our best efforts may not be enough. In Texas, you can do everything right and still lose the crop. That’s the gamble… and the life. Love wine but in a 91 F day with almost 100% humidity, thank God for beer.
