Imagine a grandmother in a kitchen and her granddaughter overlooking her every move. A father that says slow and steady is how you get that meat tender. These are a few things that drive Kizzy. Tradition, patience, time, and love is devoted to every dish from start--appetizer, to finish--dessert. Born in the City of Ruleville, in the Mississippi Delta, an area steeped in strong culinary traditions
, Kizzy Miller developed a passion and talent for the preparation of first class southern cuisine. Food serves as not only Kizzy’s passion, but an integral part of her heritage. Kizzy often reminisces on the influence her upbringing made on her cooking style. “Food has always been a part of my family tradition . . . from picking tomatoes in the summer months, to pecans in the fall, and greens in the winter.”
At the early age of 7, she recalls cooking up all of the family eggs right before Thanksgiving, because the adults were out and the kids were hungry. Years later, she would watch her grandmother host groups of neighboring ladies who baked yeast rolls or jelly cakes. She then would try to replicate the process using the “Easy Bake Oven”. As the years progressed, she developed a passion for baking…asking what if?...how do I?... . Fond memories continue to impact and encourage Kizzy’s pursuit to prepare the most delectable and satisfying food creations. Many of the dishes she prepares today, are inspired by loved ones, friends, and family, infused with Kizzy’s special touches, reminiscent of her childhood days in the kitchen; mixing the smoky flavors of the grill with fresh herbs from local vendors. This infuses the food with much love. The only thing as strong as Kizzy’s passion and talent for food preparation is Kizzy’s commitment to professionalism and satisfying the desires of her clients. When asked of her culinary mantra, Kizzy smiles and says, “if you can imagine it, Kizzy’s can create it”.
