🌊 WHEN YOU START SINKING, LOOK AT JESUS 🌊

There’s something about Peter’s story that hits differently when you’ve lived through a storm.

Peter wasn’t standing on calm water.

He was standing in the middle of a storm.

The wind was blowing.
The waves were crashing.
The boat was being tossed around.

And then Peter saw Jesus walking on the water.

Jesus didn’t calm the storm before He called Peter out.

He simply said:

“Come.”

So Peter stepped out.

Think about that for a moment.

Peter actually put his foot over the edge of the boat and stepped onto something that should have swallowed him.

And for a moment…

he walked on water.

Until he looked around.

He saw the wind.

He saw the waves.

He realized just how impossible this situation was.

And suddenly, the same man who had been walking toward Jesus began sinking beneath the waves.

Maybe that’s where some of us are today.

You stepped out in faith.

You trusted God with your marriage.
You trusted Him with your children.
You trusted Him with your finances.
You trusted Him with your future.
You prayed for healing.
You prayed for restoration.
You believed God was going to make a way.

And then…

the storm got louder.

The diagnosis came.

The phone call came.

The relationship fell apart.

The child walked away.

The bills kept piling up.

The door you prayed would open slammed shut.

The person you thought would stay left.

And suddenly, you’re standing in the middle of something you never thought you could survive.

You start asking:

“God, where are You?”

But look at Peter.

Jesus was still there.

Peter wasn’t sinking because Jesus had left.

Peter was sinking because he took his eyes off Jesus.

And here’s the part that makes me want to cry every single time I read it…

When Peter cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Jesus didn’t say,

“You should have had more faith.”

He didn’t say,

“I told you so.”

He didn’t let Peter drown to teach him a lesson.

Jesus reached down and caught him.

Right there.

In the middle of the storm.

With Peter’s fear.

With Peter’s doubt.

With Peter’s failure.

Jesus still reached for him.

Maybe you feel like you’re sinking today.

Maybe your faith doesn’t feel strong.

Maybe all you have left is a tiny little mustard seed of faith.

Then hold onto that seed.

Because Jesus said that faith the size of a mustard seed can move mountains.

You don’t need perfect faith.

You don’t need fearless faith.

You don’t need to understand what God is doing.

You just need enough faith to whisper:

“Jesus, save me.”

And He will hear you.

The storm doesn’t scare Him.

The waves don’t overwhelm Him.

Your situation isn’t too complicated for Him.

Your failure isn’t too big for Him.

Your family isn’t too far gone for Him.

Your heart isn’t too broken for Him.

And your circumstances aren’t bigger than your Savior.

So if you’re sinking…

LOOK UP.

Don’t look at the waves.

Don’t look at how deep the water is.

Don’t look at everything that could go wrong.

LOOK AT JESUS.

Because the same Jesus who stood on the water is standing with you in the storm.

And if your faith is only the size of a mustard seed today…

give Him that seed.

He can do more with your little bit of faith than you could ever do with a lifetime of trying to control everything yourself.

🌱 Your faith doesn’t have to be big when your God is.

And when you can’t walk anymore…

When your strength is gone…

When you’re tired of fighting…

When you’re too exhausted to even pray…

Remember Peter.

He sank.

And Jesus still caught him.

Maybe the miracle isn’t that you never sink.

Maybe the miracle is discovering that Jesus is always close enough to reach you when you do.

🙏🏻 “Lord, save me.”

Three simple words.

Sometimes that’s all the faith you have left.

And sometimes…

that’s enough.

❤️‍🔥 Keep your eyes on Jesus.
🌊 Keep walking.
🌱 Keep believing.

The storm may be raging…

but Jesus is still standing.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY JESUS!!! 🔥🙌✝️

What happened tonight reminded me of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Three people standing in the middle of a situation involving FIRE…

And yet, God was there.

We were on vacation, cooking dinner. Three adults in the kitchen, heating oil to make tater tots when the gas stove malfunctioned.

Suddenly, there was a fire in the pan. 🔥

I tried to get the pan away from the stove and put it into the sink, which had literally JUST had water running in it.

The fire burst out.

It hit the kitchen cabinet.

It hit the ceramic/vinyl floor.

And then…

IT WENT OUT.

Just like that.

No explanation.

No time to react.

No fire extinguisher.

Just…

JESUS.

And I couldn’t help but think about those three Hebrew boys who were thrown into the fiery furnace.

The king expected them to be consumed by the flames.

But when he looked into the fire, he saw FOUR men walking around in the fire.

They weren’t alone.

God was with them in the fire.

And tonight, I was reminded that sometimes God doesn’t keep us from walking into the fire…

He meets us IN IT. 🔥

Maybe the miracle isn’t always that we never encounter the fire.

Maybe sometimes the miracle is that the fire doesn’t get the final say.

Tonight, that fire could have spread.

It could have caused serious damage.

It could have been so much worse.

But it wasn’t.

And I’m not going to call that luck.

I’m not going to call that coincidence.

I’m calling it the protection of God.

Three adults in that kitchen.

A fire that should have kept going.

And then suddenly…

nothing.

I don’t know how to explain it except this:

Jesus was there.

The same God who walked with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace is still the same God today.

Still protecting.

Still intervening.

Still faithful.

Still walking with His children through the fire.

🔥 The fire was real.
The danger was real.
But so was our God.

And tonight, I can say with everything in me:

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY JESUS!!!

Because sometimes you don’t realize how close you came to disaster until you look back and realize…

God had His hand on you the entire time.

Nothing but Jesus. ❤️‍🔥✝️

When God says “No” to something we desperately wanted, it can hurt in a way that’s difficult to explain. Sometimes we prayed. We believed. We waited. We asked God to move—and He didn’t move the way we begged Him to.

But here’s what we have to remember:

God’s “no” is not proof that God doesn’t love us.

Sometimes His “no” is protection.
Sometimes it’s redirection.
Sometimes it’s preparation.
Sometimes He sees something we cannot see.
And sometimes, we may never understand the reason this side of heaven.

Think about Jesus in the garden. He prayed, “If it is possible, let this cup pass from me.” Jesus expressed His desire honestly, but then surrendered it to the Father: “Not my will, but yours, be done.”

That is the response God is teaching us.

Not, “God, if You loved me, You would give me what I asked for.”

But, “God, I trust You even when You don’t give me what I asked for.”

Faith isn’t only believing God can say yes.

Faith is trusting Him when He says no.

And sometimes the greatest evidence of our faith isn’t what we do when God gives us everything we’ve prayed for—it’s what we do when He closes the door we’ve begged Him to open.

We can grieve it.
We can cry over it.
We can admit that we don’t understand it.

But we don’t have to run from God because of it.

Run closer.

Because the same God who is good when He says “yes” is still good when He says “no.”

Maybe the relationship didn’t work out.
Maybe the opportunity disappeared.
Maybe the healing didn’t come the way you prayed.
Maybe the dream you’ve carried for years is no longer the path God has for you.

Don’t let disappointment convince you that God has abandoned you.

A closed door doesn’t mean God stopped leading you.

Sometimes it’s the very thing He uses to get you where He wants you to go.

So today, if God has said “no” to something your heart desperately wanted, surrender it again.

“Father, I don’t understand. I don’t like this. I wish it were different. But I trust You. Your will is greater than mine. Your ways are higher than mine. Help me trust You with what I cannot understand.”

Because one day, we may look back and realize:

What we thought was God’s rejection was actually His protection.
What we thought was a dead end was actually His redirection.
And what we thought was the end of our story was actually the beginning of something we couldn’t see yet.

Trust God—even in the “no.” ❤️‍🩹🙏

REPENTANCE vs. APOLOGIES.
CONVICTION vs. CONDEMNATION.
SALVATION vs. “THE SINERS PRAYER!

We have to be careful not to confuse religious words and traditions with what Scripture actually teaches.

An apology isn’t always repentance.

You can say, “I’m sorry,” because you got caught.
You can apologize because your actions had consequences.
You can even feel bad about what you did…

…and still have no intention of changing.

Repentance is different.

Repentance means turning around. It means agreeing with God about your sin and turning away from it—not simply feeling sorry for getting caught.

Judas was sorry.
Peter wept bitterly.

But Peter turned back to Jesus.

Conviction isn’t condemnation.

Conviction says, “What you did is wrong. Come back to Me.”

Condemnation says, “You are hopeless. You are too far gone. There is no way God could forgive you.”

One leads you to the cross.
The other tries to keep you running from it.

The Holy Spirit convicts us because God loves us enough to confront what is destroying us.

There is a difference between knowing you are guilty and believing you are beyond grace.

And salvation isn’t simply saying a prayer.

There is nothing magical about repeating certain words.

The “sinner’s prayer” can be a beautiful expression of genuine faith, surrender, and repentance—but the prayer itself is not what saves you.

Jesus saves.

Salvation is not a formula.

It is surrender.

It is faith in Christ.

It is repentance.

It is turning from sin and turning toward Jesus.

It is recognizing that you cannot save yourself and trusting completely in the One who can.

We don’t need to convince people to simply “say this prayer.”

We need to point people to Jesus.

Because someone can pray a thousand words and never surrender their heart…

while someone can cry out to Jesus with genuine faith and repentance and be completely transformed.

We aren’t called to make converts who repeat words.
We’re called to make disciples who follow Jesus.

So ask yourself:

Have I truly repented—or have I simply apologized?

Am I responding to conviction—or hiding under condemnation?

Did I genuinely surrender my life to Christ—or did I simply repeat a prayer?

Because Jesus didn’t come to make us feel a little better about our sin.

He came to save us from it.

And the beautiful part?

The same Jesus who exposes our sin with conviction is the Jesus who meets us with mercy at the cross.

Repent.
Believe.
Surrender.
Follow Him.

Not because we earn salvation…

but because when you truly encounter Jesus, you don’t want to remain the same. ❤️‍🔥

“Repent and believe the good news!” — Mark 1:15

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” — Romans 8:1

“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Sometimes the story of the woman at the well can be relatable to both men AND women. ❤️‍🩹

Because if we’re honest… haven’t we all been her at some point?

She came to the well carrying more than a water jar. She carried shame. Rejection. Disappointment. Broken relationships. A past she probably wished she could erase. And maybe most of all, she carried the feeling that she wasn’t worthy of being seen.

So she came to the well at a time when she could avoid everyone.

But then Jesus was there.

And Jesus didn’t avoid her because of her past.
He didn’t condemn her because of her mistakes.
He didn’t tell her she had to clean herself up before He would talk to her.

He met her right where she was.

He knew everything about her—and still chose to speak to her.

Think about that.

Jesus knew every mistake you’ve made.
Every secret you’ve kept.
Every relationship that broke you.
Every time you’ve run from Him.
Every place you’ve searched for love, fulfillment, acceptance, or peace.

And He still came looking for you.

The woman at the well thought she was going to get water.

Instead, she encountered the Living Water.

Jesus told her that whoever drinks of the water He gives will never thirst again.

And maybe that’s where some of us are today.

We keep going back to the same wells, hoping they will finally satisfy us.

The well of relationships.
The well of money.
The well of success.
The well of approval.
The well of alcohol or addictions.
The well of anger.
The well of control.
The well of trying to be enough.

But those wells will always leave us thirsty.

Only Jesus can fill the empty places in our souls.

And here’s my favorite part…

After meeting Jesus, she left her water jar behind and ran back to tell others about Him.

The very woman who came to the well trying to hide became the woman who couldn’t stop telling people about Jesus.

That’s what Jesus does.

He takes our shame and gives us a testimony.
He takes our brokenness and gives us purpose.
He takes the places we thought disqualified us and uses them to point others toward Him.

Your past does not scare Jesus.
Your mistakes do not disqualify you.
Your brokenness does not make you unworthy of His love.

Jesus is still sitting at the well.

And He is still saying:

“Come to Me.”

You don’t have to keep drinking from wells that leave you thirsty.

Come drink from the Living Water. 💧❤️

Jesus sees you. Jesus knows you. Jesus loves you. And Jesus is waiting for you.

John 4:13-14 ✝️

FINDING JOY IN THE CHAOS… 😂😂😂

It seems like every year our family vacations turn into a full-blown Chevy Chase movie starring the Doeblers/Cutchalls. 🤦‍♀️😂

And this year? We are already off to a fantastic start.

We lost boat parts. 🚤
The house is dirty. 🧹😂
The fridge is broken. 🫠
And the boat lift doesn’t work. 🤦‍♀️

What else, you ask??

STAY TUNED. 😂😂😂

Because if history has taught us anything, the vacation chaos is probably just getting started. We’ve still got plenty of time for someone to get lost, something else to break, or another completely unexpected disaster to make the itinerary. 😂

But here’s the thing…

We’re choosing joy anyway. ❤️

Because maybe vacations aren’t supposed to be perfect. Maybe the best memories are made when the plans fall apart, the fridge quits, the boat lift refuses to cooperate, and you’re standing there wondering, “What in the world could possibly happen next?” 😂

We can either let the chaos steal our joy… or we can laugh through it, make memories, and thank God that we get to be together.

Because at the end of the day, the house can be dirty.
The fridge can be broken.
The boat lift can be useless.
The missing boat parts can eventually be found. 😂

But we have each other. We have this time together. And we have Jesus. ❤️🙏🏻

So, Lord… give us patience. 😂
Give us grace.
Give us laughter.
And maybe, just maybe… protect the remaining appliances and boat equipment. 🙏🏻😂

Finding joy in the chaos.

And if you’re wondering what happens next…

Stay tuned. This vacation isn’t over yet. 😂😂😂

And just like that… this precious young man has entered into the arms of Jesus. 💔🕊️

After all the suffering, all the battles, all the prayers, and all the uncertainty… he is finally HOME.

No more pain.
No more fear.
No more suffering.
No more earthly battles.

Just the loving arms of Jesus, where every tear is wiped away and every broken place is made whole. ❤️‍🩹

While our hearts ache for his family and for everyone who loved him, we can hold onto the promise that death is not the end for those who belong to Christ. Today, he sees the face of the One we have been praying to all along.

Please, please pray for his family. Pray for them in the moments when the house becomes quiet. Pray for them when reality sinks in. Pray for the unbearable ache of his absence. Pray that Jesus wraps His arms around them so tightly that they can feel His presence in the middle of their grief.

Lord Jesus, carry this family when they don’t have the strength to stand. Give them a peace that makes no earthly sense. Remind them that their loved one is no longer suffering, but is resting safely in Your presence.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful servants.” — Psalm 116:15

Until they meet again… may they cling to Jesus. 🙏🏻❤️

Rest peacefully, sweet young man. You fought your fight. You finished your race. Now you are HOME. 🕊️✝️

ONE MORE PRAYER FOR THIS PRECIOUS YOUNG MAN. 🙏🏻❤️

For days, we have prayed for a miracle. We have asked God to heal him, to strengthen him, to do what only He can do. And tonight, our prayer looks a little different.

Last night, this young man made it home to his family. He is now on hospice, and after so much pain, so much fighting, and so much suffering, he is finally resting peacefully.

And as heartbreaking as this is, there is something beautiful about knowing he is home.

He is surrounded by the people who love him.
He is surrounded by the familiar walls of home.
And most importantly, he is never outside the reach of Jesus.

So tonight, we pray one final earthly prayer for him.

Jesus, please hold him.

Hold him when his body is tired.
Hold him when the pain becomes too much.
Hold him when his family cannot find the words to say goodbye.

Let him feel Your presence in that room. Let Your peace fill every corner of that home. Quiet every fear. Ease every bit of suffering. And when his earthly body can fight no longer, let his soul find rest in You.

Jesus, if his healing is no longer going to look like what we prayed for here on earth, then we surrender him completely into Your hands.

Surrendering doesn’t mean we stopped believing. It means we trust You enough to let go.

We pray that when he takes his final breath here, his very next breath will be in the presence of his Savior.

No more pain.
No more suffering.
No more hospital rooms.
No more fighting.
No more fear.

Just Jesus.

Jesus, meet him at the threshold of eternity. Take his hand. Carry him home. Let him fall peacefully into Your arms.

And Lord, please stay especially close to his family. Because sometimes the greatest miracle isn’t keeping someone here—it is giving a family the strength to release someone they love into the arms of the One who loves them even more.

We don’t understand this. Our hearts are broken. But we trust You.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” — Psalm 23:4

Please keep praying for this young man and his family. Pray for peace. Pray for comfort. Pray for freedom from suffering. And above all, pray that he feels Jesus so close that he has no fear of what comes next.

Jesus, carry him home.

I’VE STARTED THIS POST ABOUT FIVE TIMES… AND EVERY TIME, I DELETE IT. 🥹❤️

Because how do you put into words what the last 10 weeks have meant to us?

Ten weeks ago, we opened Faith & Fire Grill.

We had a food trailer, a grill, a menu, a lot of nerves, and a whole lot of faith.

We prayed that God would use this little trailer for something bigger than food.

We just didn’t know how big He would make it.

Today, there are more than 1,200 of you following our journey.

And yes… that number absolutely blows our minds.

But when I look at that number, I don’t see 1,200 followers.

I see faces.

I see the people who have stood at our window and shared pieces of their lives with us.

I see the people who came for lunch and somehow ended up telling us what they were going through.

I see the people we’ve prayed with.

The people we’ve laughed with.

The people we’ve cried with.

The people who came back and told us, “I needed that conversation.”

I see the person who just needed someone to listen.

The person who needed encouragement.

The person who needed a hug.

The person who needed to know that somebody cared.

And I see all of you who have supported us in ways you probably don’t even realize.

There have been days behind that trailer when we were exhausted.

Days when we questioned ourselves.

Days when we wondered if we were doing the right thing.

Days when business was slow and we wondered how we were going to make it.

And then one of you would pull up.

You’d smile.

You’d tell us how much you loved the food.

You’d tell us you were praying for us.

You’d share a post.

You’d leave a review.

You’d bring a friend.

You’d simply say, “Keep going.”

And somehow, those little moments always seemed to come at exactly the right time.

God knew what He was doing.

This was never just about food.

Yes, we want to make you a really good sandwich. 😂

Yes, we want you to leave with a full belly.

But more than anything, we wanted this to be a place where people felt seen, loved, welcomed, and prayed for.

A place where you could pull up on a random day and maybe leave with a little more hope than you came with.

And somehow, while we were trying to serve you…

you started serving us right back.

You encouraged us.

You supported our family.

You prayed for us.

You celebrated our wins.

You stuck with us through the changes.

You watched us figure things out as we went.

You helped our little dream become something real.

And I hope you know just how deeply that touches our hearts.

So while we step away for a week to spend some much-needed time together as a family, I don’t want to simply say, “See you soon.”

I want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you for every purchase.

Every like.

Every share.

Every comment.

Every review.

Every recommendation.

Every prayer.

Every conversation.

Every hug.

Every kind word.

Every time you chose our little trailer.

Thank you for trusting us with your stories.

Thank you for letting us pray with you.

Thank you for letting us be part of your lives.

And thank you for becoming part of ours.

Ten weeks.

1,200+ people.

Countless meals.

Countless conversations.

Countless prayers.

And more blessings than we could ever count.

I truly believe God didn’t just give us a business.

He gave us a ministry.

And He gave us a community.

A community we prayed for before we even knew your names.

And now?

We know your names.

We know your faces.

We know your stories.

And we pray for you.

That is something we will never take for granted.

So from our family to yours…

Thank you for believing in us.
Thank you for supporting us.
Thank you for loving us.
And thank you for allowing us to love you.

We may have started Faith & Fire Grill with the hope of feeding people…

but somewhere along the way, you all fed our hearts. ❤️

We love you more than a Facebook post could ever explain.

Enjoy the week without us. 😂❤️

And when we come back, the grill will be hot, the food will be cooking, and we’ll be right where God called us to be.

Serving you. Loving you. Praying with you.

Until then, keep the faith. ❤️🔥
