Every year, when autumn arrives, I bring this picture out and put it somewhere I’ll see it—usually on my kitchen windowsill (hence a few spatters & spots).
My cousin Teresa, who was also my college roommate, drew it for me years ago.
It holds so many happy memories of her and reminds me of the joy she finds in life, even when life brings its inevitable challenges.
Her words have stayed with me:
“Pray for a good harvest but continue to hoe.”
Some blessings follow our effort;
many are gifts of grace.
Either way, we can meet them with diligence, wisdom, and faith.
That's a lesson I’ve learned over the years, but never more clearly than since we planted our first lavender plant.
Our little farm has brought plenty of lessons, along with the deep joy of watching hard work take root.
As autumn settles in, I’m especially grateful for all the wonderful people, like Teresa, who have touched our lives
For the lessons this little farm continues to teach us...
and for the privilege of calling this beautiful piece of Earth-
HOME.
HAPPY FALL!🍁🍂🍁
