Our girls live in a colony, one of our bucks is in a extra large dog kennel with them right now until we can get their hutch finished.
But this is exactly why! They love hanging out with each other! They have plenty of room to get some space if they wanted.

Unfortunately, one of our birds has tested positive for Mycoplasma synoviae.

What does this mean for us?

Well, not a whole lot really. For now at least. None of our birds are symptomatic, so we don't need to treat at this time. But, it does mean we won't be able to sell any birds or hatching eggs until we get a new flock.

Their eggs are still safe to eat!

This puts a pause on our plans for breeding. But it's not the end. We won't be adding any new birds to the flock. Once all of these birds are gone, we'll wait a few months, disinfect, and start from scratch.

It's a bummer, but part of responsible farming!
