Before us, there were our ancestors. Before the cities, the roads, and the businesses, there were Indigenous people who lived on this land, cared for it, and passed down traditions that continue to live through generations.
This is our ancestral land. These are our roots. And today, we honor those who came before us. 🤎
At La Vaca Bella Collective, we have a deep appreciation for the traditional knowledge of using what nature provides.
Long before modern skincare, Indigenous communities used animal fats for nourishment, skin care, and everyday living. Buffalo and other animals provided food, hides for clothing and shelter, and materials for tools. Nothing was taken for granted, and using as much of the animal as possible was a way of honoring what it provided.
Today, as I hand-render our locally sourced beef tallow and turn it into skincare, I’m reminded of those generations of resourcefulness and traditional knowledge.
Our ancestors understood the value of the land, the animals, and the resources around them. That’s something worth remembering and respecting.
Today isn’t about selling a product. It’s about honoring our roots, our ancestors, and the Indigenous people whose cultures, traditions, and communities are still here today.
May we never forget where we came from. 🌵🤎
