This paper may look old and worn… but the memories behind it will stay with me forever. This Letter of Commendation was presented to me for serving in the United States Navy Ceremonial Guard in Washington, D.C.
It represents over 1,200 funerals. Countless folded flags. Tears from grieving families. And heroes who gave everything for this country. I had the honor of serving as a casket bearer during President Ronald Reagan’s State Funeral, standing in over 100 ceremonies, and helping receive fallen warriors returning home during the War on Terror.Memorial Day is personal for me. Because behind every flag-draped casket was a name. A family. A story. A sacrifice. So today, while the smoke rolls and families gather together, let us never forget the men and women who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
From all of us at Rebeaux’s BBQ Sauce: We honor the fallen. We remember their sacrifice. And we thank every family carrying the weight of that loss today.
🇺🇸 Stand in the smoke. Never forget.
