I was able to spin up 160 yards 2-ply yarn from Fudge Pops harvest ^_^ These rolags spin like a total dream and definitely created the smoothest flow I've had so far. I still have single ply on one bobbin and about 6 rolags left, so I think Ill finish up the rest of the fiber and weigh up the finished amount. Now, I just need to decide what to knit with all the sample yarns ✨️

Making the forbidden cannoli from Fudge Pop's gorgeous fiber. These are rolags I'll be spinning from.

I have to give a big shoutout to The Triple F Homestead down in Georgia. Ive worked with them several times now, getting 6 different bunnies from them. Wholeheartedly, they are so educated, their animals are excellent quality, and in great condition. I have 3 english angoras from them and seriously, some of the best wool Ive seen. Their stock has majorly influenced my own foundation so, Im glad have them in our corner as we grow!

They're just awesome people in general, doing lots of super cool things beyond rabbits as well, so if you're in the GA and surrounding areas, put them on you're go to list for farmers market wares, rabbit, etc. ✨️

Pictured is one of the new additions to our growing menagerie of Angora’s. She will be getting a haircut very soon and we will spin up a sample to share.

Today, I learned a valuable lesson. I adore all of the animals I keep. If I didn't, what would be the point right? But as we growing into ourselves at the farm, part of what makes it all work is letting some of them go to the right homes, for new adventure and purposes beyond our fences.

As I guide us deeper into a focused fiber farm, I recognize I have to shift some things around and ultimately, move some animals on to make room for what aligns. So, I had made the decision to let my holland lop Goose go. We had the right home where I knew he would be cared for well and given a good purpose. I took a retainer and had everything set up.

But for TWO DAYS I was upset and totally regretting the decision. He and I bonded much differently than others. I have bonds with them too, but Goose is special. He was not bred in house, I chose him. He is sweet, playful, and adores receiving and showing affection. On top of that, he is stupidly cute. I was picturing his little face when I tried to fall asleep. This little dude is my companion bun. I'm just not ready. I just didn't grasp how deep it was until I had committed to not seeing him anymore.

Luckily, they were super understanding, and I was completely happy to return the retainer. I do feel bad because I flip flopped and that's just not fair to the other side. We have a litter coming with his first offspring. Mama bun should be due on the 31st. So, there will be baby Gooses to carry on the family name very soon, and if anyone wants a magical little one that will steal your heart, we can make that happen.

But the lesson here: Make sure you are absolutely 100% ok with a sale prior to commitment especially as a seller! I don't ever want to back out of a sale again because my customers deserve predictability.

I hope this shows that I do indeed love these animals and while I love being a part of the rehoming process, I'm not into breeding just for the business. I'm trying to create sweet dispositioned little creatures that bring joy who look good doing it! Goose is king of the castle here!

I really like this girl.

I normally would like to leave her fiber on a longer but its getting so hot, I couldnt imagine letting her sitting in a sweater like this. This bunny has the absolute densest coat. Our full harvest was over double the amount of Benjamins. Ill post a clip of our grooming session and our end total fiber. I made it a quarter of the way with just plucking but theres so much, I ended up shaving her. Ill spin this up and see what we think of it, but over all I can already tell its going to be stellar to work with, even if the staple length isnt as long as I prefer. The fall and spring coat will be.
