Day 3:

Bluebonnet Kick-Off Classic

An absolutely successful end to the trip.

Tyler showed Penny for your Thoughts and placed an amazing 2nd place in a huge class. It was such an amazing competition to watch bc every heifer in that class was competive.
Tyler also showed Easter Lilly but unfortunately didn’t placed well. But we were happy either way, even for her last show.

Savannah showed Maggie Muy Magnum and placed 2nd in her also huge class. She held her own as one of the two youngest exhibitors in the class. Literally, 2 eight year olds competing with all adults. Even as two heifers got lose and ran straight over to where Savannah and Maggie were setup at, both remained calm and set. Such a proud moment for all of us.

Thank you Tommy and Deanna Ramsey for the biggest opportunity we could ever ask for.

Day 2:

Bluebonnet Kick-Off Classic

Our day started off early to get R***r ready for his class. Him and Hayden went in strong. Unfortunately he didn’t place high, but he did however stay calm while another bull calf was acting out and kept bumping into him. We are proud of R***r either way.

Then Savannah competed in the 8 year old Showmanship class and placed 2nd!!!! We are beyond so excited and happy for her. She did absolutely amazing. And top it off she had a big group of family and friends there to watch and cheer her on.

The girls and I finished off our day with a treat of swimming with their cousins, grandparents and Aunt and Uncle in their new pool. Plus, we all made s’mores. Perfect end to a perfect day.

Day 1:

2026 Bluebonnet Kick-Off Classic

We headed out early Wednesday morning and went southbound to Bryan. After a long trip, we got unloaded and setup to get a short rest before Savannah participated in the Showmanship clinic. She did so well and learned a lot. Her and Maggie Muy meshed so well together for only being with each other for a few days. Our friends Jacob, Wyatt, Gail and Trent did a wonderful job with her halter breaking.

All jokes aside, there’s a reason Brahman cattle have been the backbone of the Southern cattle industry for generations…

Brahman were made for this country. They were made for the heat, the humidity, the bugs, and the conditions that come with raising cattle down South. Their natural parasite resistance, longevity, and ability to stay productive year after year are traits that are hard to put a price on.💯

Especially with concerns like screwworms and other parasite challenges, having cattle that are naturally tough and adaptable is something every cattleman should appreciate.

And before somebody says, “but Brahman aren’t beef cattle”… let’s talk about that.👀 Good Brahman genetics can absolutely produce high quality beef. The old stereotypes that have followed Brahman cattle for years don’t tell the whole story.
