Y’all… the farm is full again!

Today we welcomed 3 more fur babies (Franz, Rolf, and Otto) from the most recent hoarding case, and while they’ve got some healing to do, they are finally somewhere safe, loved, and able to just breathe.

These boys have been through more than they ever should have, both emotionally and physically, but the best news is they are all heartworm negative and that is a huge blessing!

After their neuters next week, they’ll get to do what dogs are meant to do — play, rest, feel safe, and learn what love looks like. Until New York State is ready for them, they’ll be getting all the care, attention, and spoiling they can handle right here at the farm.

One thing about rescue… it never slows down. But every tired day, every mess, and every little victory is worth it for these babies.

Everybody welcome Drum to the farm!

Drum is our new forever boy, and let me tell y’all something… he has been here about five minutes and already acts like he owns the place. Honestly, at this point, we’re just paying the bills and following his rules.

Y’all know all of our Bostons are named after Steel Magnolias characters, so Drum fits right in with M’Lynn, Truvy, Ouiser, Clairee, and Annelle.

He is 10 months old, sweet as can be, and fits in like he’s always belonged here. He’s not scared of anybody, not bothered by anything, and carries himself like he’s been the boss from day one. This special boy got OG status real fast, and he absolutely knows it.

He’ll be getting ready for his neuter soon and will be fully vetted, but for now he’s settling in, being spoiled rotten, and running this house like a tiny four-legged supervisor.

We’re sure glad to have you, Drum. Even if this is your house now. 🤍

Sorry we’ve been a little MIA lately, but life has been wide open around here between foster dogs and all the spring happenings at the farm!

We’re so excited to welcome our newest fosters: Andy, Marcus, Dustin, Reba, Hans, and Arlo! From dachshunds to a bull terrier, our home has been full of wagging tails, sweet faces, and dogs just needing a second chance after being failed by humans.

Most of this crew is boys, but Miss Reba came with a little extra surprise… or maybe a few! We’ll be keeping y’all updated as she makes her way through pregnancy.

Some of these babies came from shelters, and others were pulled from another heartbreaking hoarding case. Rescue is never easy. There are hard days, goodbyes, happy endings, and everything in between. But at the end of the day, every single bit of it is worth it.

Thank y’all for following along, cheering these dogs on, and caring about the ones who need it most. There’s plenty more to come around here.

Transport day is here, and it is always the most bittersweet kind of day.

Stryder, Chestnut, Bear, and Sampson are headed toward the lives they have been waiting for, and while that is the whole goal, it never makes the goodbye part any easier. These boys have been the best. They have brought so much joy, so many laughs, so much love, and yes… probably a little chaos too. They have been part of our everyday, and this house is going to feel their absence.

Fostering is such a strange mix of emotions. You pour your heart into them, love them like they are your own, cheer for every little step forward, and then one day you pack them up and send them off to the futures they deserve. It is beautiful and heartbreaking all at once.

Whoever gets Stryder, Chestnut, Bear, and Sampson is going to be so incredibly lucky. They are sweet, special boys, and it has been an honor to be a small part of their story. We will be over here hoping for the happiest endings, the softest beds, the fullest bellies, and families who adore them the way they should be adored.

And yes… I just might ugly cry.

Go be so loved, boys. We’ll never forget you. ❤️

Twas the night before transport, and all through the house, these sweet dogs were dreaming of the love that awaits them. Dreaming of soft beds, full bellies, gentle hands, and families to call their very own.

They have come so far from where they started, and while tonight is just one more night here with us, tomorrow is the beginning of something beautiful. A fresh start. A safe place. A forever they have always deserved.

Rescue is never easy. It is messy, emotional, exhausting, and full of unknowns. But nights like this remind us why we do it. Because somewhere out there, a family is waiting who has no idea yet just how much joy, love, and healing is headed their way.

Tomorrow these babies take one more step toward home, and our hearts are full knowing they are closer than ever to the life they were meant to have.

Safe travels, sweet ones. Your forever is waiting. ❤️🐾

Moira update!!! 🐾❤️

Y’all remember how emaciated she was—coming to us at 20 lbs trying her best to feed five puppies?! Well… today she weighs 38.2 lbs! 🎉

She has come SUCH a long way, and today is a big milestone: Moira is getting spayed so she never again has to carry babies, and can just focus on being a happy, bouncy, loved redbone hound. 🐶✨

This is why we do this.
Second chances. Safe landings. Full bellies. Healing.

And before you know it… this sweet girl will be ready for her forever home. 🏡💛

Warm weather means farm projects are officially back in season 🌞🌱

Garden upgrade loading… literally. Blocks are laid, plans are in motion, and this space is about to turn into something special. Slow progress, strong foundation, and lots of dirt-under-the-fingernails kind of fun ahead.

Spring on the farm just hits different. 💚

ADHD on ✨FULL DISPLAY✨ right now. Spring really said, “release the chaos goblins.” 😂
We’ve been trapped inside all winter and now it’s outside time, which means my brain is running on sunshine and bad decisions.

Are we currently heading to Lowe’s? Yup.
Is it to finish a current project? …kinda. 😅

Current DIY situation (send help):
• Remodeling son’s room
• Finishing a bathroom ceiling
• Fence stuff
• Clearing the creek
• Closing burn piles
• Front planters
• Mulching (forever mulching)
• Stump removal
• Tree trimming
• New raised bed garden
• Painting all the things
• Finishing changing cabinet hardware

And that’s just what’s happening in the “we swear we’re normal” department. 🤣
Tell me you’re in spring mode too—what project are you currently avoiding by starting a new one?

Alright y’all… apparently my life is a potato masher graveyard. 😂

We have folded TWO mashers in half, lost a couple in moves, melted one, the garbage disposal claimed one, and we’ve straight up broken THREE. So when I tell you this all-steel potato masher is the best one I’ve ever owned… I mean it.

I’ve had this one over a year and it’s still going strong with zero signs of quitting. And it’s mashed way more than potatoes around here—berries for jam, grapes, beans, tomatoes, and whatever else I’m squishing in the name of canning season. It’s sturdy, it’s simple, and it doesn’t act like it’s fighting for its life every time I use it.

If you’re in the market for a masher that can survive a farmhouse kitchen (and my chaos), this is the one. 🙌

I’m about to order a second one myself… you know… for a canning emergency. 😅

Fun Fact Friday 🌱 (Spring Cleaning – Farm Edition)

Spring cleaning on the farm isn’t about pretty closets and matching bins—it’s about resetting everything after winter survival mode.

What spring cleaning really means on the farm:
• Cleaning coops and nesting boxes after months of heavy use
• Refreshing bedding and improving airflow
• Scrubbing waterers and feeders that worked overtime all winter
• Repairing what winter weather tried to take out

Why it matters:
• Reduces bacteria and parasites
• Keeps animals healthier going into warmer months
• Sets the tone for a productive spring and summer

It’s not glamorous, it’s usually muddy, and it definitely doesn’t smell like lemon cleaner—but it’s necessary. Just like in life, sometimes you’ve got to clear out the old to make room for what’s coming next.

Spring cleaning, farm-style: more shovels, less throw pillows.
