Farm Update: The onions are starting to bulb, potatoes are doing great, tomatoes are starting to bloom. So far everything is looking great. We definitely could use some rain. We will not be at the farmers market this weekend but are looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

We caught a swarm today! This is how bee colonies reproduce. The queen and around half of the worker bees leave their hive and look for a new home. If you see a swarm please contact us and we will give it a good home.

Can you spot the Queen Bee? She is the mother to every bee in the hive. She can lay 2,000 eggs a day! The queen will mate with up to 20 drones over the course of a few days and she flies about 2 miles away from her hive to find these drones.

We have been busy getting the farm going for the season. Potatoes and onions were planted a couple weeks ago and we have radishes and snow peas sprouting. Our honeybees have survived well over the winter and are growing rapidly! We’re excited to see what this season brings. 🤩

It may be too cold outside for an outdoor farmers market, but we carry some of your farmers market favorites!

Mercy Market is excited to host local vendors at Decatur Brew Works on Saturday, January 10, from 10 AM–1 PM.

This winter market is all about supporting local food vendors by giving them a place to sell and connect with the community during the colder months.

We’re jazzed to have Arlin Peebles joining us for live music, so come enjoy the tunes while you shop and see what the market has to offer. The full vendor list will be finalized and shared next Tuesday.
