What is quick bread? By definition, it is a bread that uses agents such as baking soda and/or baking powder to leaven the bread instead of yeast. This means it doesn’t require the long rise times of yeast or sourdough culture leavened breads, making it “quicker” than the original process.

My quick breads use sourdough discard (aka starter that is removed or “discarded” from the jar during a feeding. When the culture is added into the mix it lends some leavening properties, but mostly it provides moisture and amazing flavor! This loaf is my brown sugar cinnamon swirl, a warmly spiced, slightly sweet, almost cake-like experience with a moist, dense crumb. This one is for a customer so I can’t show the inside but trust that it is delightful!

I was so excited about this new loaf I couldn’t even wait to get it off the parchment before taking a pic! This is my new 3 Cheese Garlic Sourdough, aka my sourdough version of a cheesy garlic bread from a certain pizza establishment 👀

Savory sourdough bread with mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan cheeses layered with garlic and italian herbs throughout, topped with buttery garlic parm and herb drizzle. 🧀 🧄 🍞

I truly love making crackers for my customers! Creating thin, crispy wafers of goodness is so satisfying. This past week I’m grateful to have had 6 orders just for crackers alone, which is amazing!

The problem: I currently live in a tiny studio apartment with a small kitchen that doesn’t have enough counter space for the cooling and drying process required to make crackers on a bigger scale. This caused me a lot of stress when baking this week and I have had to rethink my capacity for production.

So, until I move later this spring, I will be limiting my cracker orders until I have a larger kitchen and more space to make them properly. I will take 3 orders for crackers per baking day moving forward, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

*There will be no limits on bread orders as those are much easier to produce and require less space for production.

My sourdough discard crackers have been a hit lately with customers who enjoy the thin, crispy, buttery taste of these tasty little creations. The flavor combinations are endless, some of the most recent ones being:
- garlic, Parmesan, and cheddar
- Asiago, sea salt and black pepper
- Italian herbs, garlic, and Parmesan
- and of course Everything Bagel Seasoning!

Want to try some crunchy, flavorful goodness for yourself? My crackers are $5/batch, with each batch averaging a half-pound in weight. Select up to 3 flavors per batch, or leave it up to me to create a flavor profile just for you!

My favorite loaf I made this weekend: Cheddar Bacon Ranch! This little beauty has ranch seasoning mixed into the dough and is filled with 8 ounces of cubed sharp cheddar cheese and 12 ounces of crumbled applewood smoked bacon. Yum! 🥓🧀
