Well with a heavy heart I have to hang up my farmer’s hat. With my injured arm that I have been dealing with for 8 weeks now. The fact that it takes 6-12 months to heal, I am unable to do the physical labor.
To add salt to the wound, a coyote has attacked my flock, which was 57, but is now 31. Heartbroken! But with free range on 6 acres it is inevitable that predators are abound, and apparently everything loves chicken!

Thanks for those that supported me!

For now, this farmer is retired.

I donated 30 dozen to Healing Place Church (Highland Rd.) food pantry this past Saturday and since everything now-a-days seems to be so expensive I am changing my pricing in the spirit of fresh farm eggs being enjoyed over any type of would be profit on my behalf.

Pricing:
• $3 per dozen

🗓 Tuesday–Thursday after 3pm till dark

I was dressing up my “front porch” just so the egg pickup cabinet wouldn’t be lonely…
Note the potted marigolds and sunflowers will go to my chickens!

I also have oregano, two mint varieties, thyme, rosemary… The outdoor big container did have cabbages and romaine lettuce that I already fed to chickens… haven’t decided what to plant now for them in it yet.
What do you recommend?
