I’m only a half year into breeding Silkies, and I’ve learned that this community can be surprisingly messy. Which is disgusting ….🤢
People will talk down on you, criticize your birds, and make it hard to feel like you belong. Finding experienced breeders who are genuinely willing to help & educate you can feel nearly impossible, and honestly, it can seem like everyone is against you.
I’m forever blessed by the few ladies which have educated me , gave me advice when I asked & emotionally helped me when I was bullied , belittled & my name was slandered. 🩷

If you’re a new breeder searching for a place to fit in, just know you’re not alone. It can be incredibly discouraging trying to find your people in this hobby which some people find is a competition.
But remember , your worth is not determined by followers or whether others choose to include you.
Sometimes peace and standing on your own is worth more than forcing yourself into spaces where you don’t feel valued.
It’s sad to see adults treat others as less than , simply because they don’t have a large following or reputation.
At the end of the day, we all share the same love. 💗
