ever wondered why your cucumbers taste bitter. right now first secure those vines because wobbly stems create plant stress. when stressed the plant releases a compound called cucurbitacin which actually creates that nasty bite. i use shade nets and mulch to keep the soil nice and cool.

It is finally harvest day and we are starting with this beast. This john deere chopper eats eight rows at a time with massive power. Check out this loop to see the scale of it. Once it is chopped we hook up and get ready for the bagger. This silage feeds our seventy dairy cows. It is a massive operation.

Ever wondered if those cheap greenhouses actually work. I bought one to test it out. It is just metal poles and connectors with barely any weight. It goes up quickly but it is definitely flimsy out of the box. So i used zip ties to lock the shelves and added soil bags at the bottom. It completely survived high winds and stayed way warmer than outside. Total win for my seedlings.

Stop waiting weeks for your seeds to grow. Grab two cups of water and soak your seeds for just twenty minutes. Pour them out on a clean paper towel and spread them evenly. Put them into a container and lock them inside a cooler box. After forty eight hours look at those perfect fresh sprouts.

Stop letting your watermelons waste energy. These extra shoots grow fast but they are just stealing nutrients from your actual fruit. Grab your shears and snip off anything near the main stem. I also remove any leaves touching the ground to prevent disease. This simple hack keeps all the energy focused on growing huge melons.

I can not believe all of these grew in just one bucket. It all starts with these tiny seeds and a little patience. By day twelve, we have life. Once they are ready, we are going vertical and planting them right into the bucket. Check this out ninety days later and look at this amazing harvest.

Stop letting your vines grow wild without a plan. To get a massive harvest, clean off all the bottom leaves and flowers early on. This pushes all the nutrients straight to the top. Once it reaches the trellis, snip the main tip. This forces multiple side branches to erupt, giving you way more female flowers.

Stop tossing your mint stems away. Try growing them right in water using a piece of styrofoam. Just snip your cuttings, clean the bottom leaves, poke them through the foam, and let them float. They love water and will push out massive roots in days. Go try this easy hack at home.

Stop letting your basil die. First, create a canopy. This forces two branches to grow from every single cut. The more you snip, the thicker it gets. Next, cut those flowers immediately. If it blooms, the plant thinks its life is over. By snipping them, we trick the plant into staying young and growing more delicious leaves.
