One of this week’s feature flavors is a special version of our fan favorite Cookies & Cream! When we were approached for a donation for the Des Moines Public Schools Foundation for an auction item we absolutely did not hesitate! The Westdal-Centers family came out as the top bidder for the opportunity to create and name a flavor. The parents and their two girls (students at DMPS) sat down with Beth to talk about their perfect ice cream flavor. The girls adore Oreo cookies. The family itself has a deep love of ice cream. The parents even had ice cream at their wedding instead of cake! Our kind of people. They call their family hugs a Sister Sandwich! And so it was!

As we approach the first day of school this coming Monday, it only seemed appropriate to help this family and many others see the summer out with one of their favorite treats. This flavor is available today 8/20 through Sunday 8/23. Plus, for every scoop of Sister Sandwich, Scoops by Beth will be donating $1 to the Des Moines Public Schools Foundation. Beth and many of our scoopers are proud students of Des Moines Public Schools. In a time where many of our public schools are cutting programs, staff, activities, and even shutting down schools due to a lack of resources, every little bit helps. The Foundation supports teacher requests for special projects that help students thrive and our school communities become stronger.
