June 1st. The second part of 2026 starts right here for me, and I’m coming into it with my whole chest.

The first six months stayed busy. I had some firsts I’m really proud of — stepping into catering with GuestRaunt, joining a nonprofit and teaching basic cooking classes, and seeing my sign up on the window of the kitchen space where I work. That one meant a lot. Real tears, real gratitude, real work.

I’ve had highs. I’ve had lows. I’ve had moments that stretched me, tested me, and made me wonder how I was going to keep going. But I made it up that hill.

So now I’m riding this wave with more momentum, more wisdom, and a whole lot more faith.

Meal Prep by Cort is still growing, still learning, still becoming. And I’m grateful for every step of it.

👑 6 YEARS.

No shortcuts.
Just faith, discipline, and consistency.

“I stayed. I built. I didn’t quit.”

To my clients — thank you.
Y’all have been sooo patient with me. Through schedule changes. Through growing pains. Through learning curves. Through delivery stress. Through seasons of transition. You stuck with me. You trusted me. You supported me. I appreciate you more than you will ever know.

To my supporters — even the ones I’ve never met in person — thank you. Every repost. Every share. Every “I’m proud of you.” Every referral. Every prayer. I felt it.

To my mentors — I have a few great ones who have truly been there through thick and thin. Your wisdom, your honesty, your correction, your belief in me — it mattered.

And to myself…

Many times I thought about quitting.
Because if I’m honest, that used to be my pattern. When things got hard, I’d walk away.

But something shifted.

I said, “I built this baby… and I’m not giving up on it.”

These 6 years have been a learning process — especially these last three. And this doesn’t mean I know everything, because I don’t. I’m still learning. I mess up A LOT. I’m not perfect. But I’m committed.

I’ve completed cohorts that stretched me and strengthened me.
ProsperUS Detroit helped me with my new website.
BUILD supported my shared commercial kitchen journey.
SBAM helped me find my voice through public speaking and podcast snippets.

I am growing. Still.

From early mornings to late nights. From working a regular job to prepping again. From doubt to discipline.

Detroit built me.
Fitness started me.
Community sustained me.

6 years later… and I’m just getting started.

🚚 2 days until 6 years.
And I’m not done. I’m just getting started.

First — forgive me for missing Day 3 & 4 😅 I’ve been busy… working and working out. Life been lifing. But this countdown matters to me. I know to some, posting like this might not seem important. But it’s important to me. This anniversary is personal. This is sweat. This is sacrifice. This is obedience.

Now let’s talk about the next 6 years.

A delivery van.

Not just a vehicle — but freedom.
Freedom to control my schedule.
Freedom to take bigger orders.
Freedom to show up to events, fitness expos, community pop-ups without worrying about borrowing space or squeezing coolers into my car.
A van would mean growth without compromise.

Cambros and proper transport equipment.

Not just containers — but professionalism at the next level.
Keeping meals hot or cold safely.
Protecting quality.
Expanding into catering and larger vendor opportunities with confidence.

A storefront.

Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not next year.
But one day.
A space that feels like home.
Where Detroit can walk in and grab something healthy, flavorful, and intentional.
Where the brand lives physically.

And expanding access.

That means making sure busy professionals, athletes, single moms and dads, busy families, students — especially in underserved communities — can get healthy food without it feeling like a luxury. It means impact. It means staying rooted in Detroit while growing.

I’m not done.
I’m building something that lasts.

7 days until 6 years of Meal Prep by Cort.

6 years ago, Meal Prep by Cort wouldn’t have even been born if it wasn’t for my trainer and my workout buddies. And that’s real.

My goal was NEVER to start a meal prep business. I just wanted to train. I just wanted to get better. But the people around me kept saying,
“Cort, you should be meal prepping.”
“You should sell these.”
“You should turn this into a business.”

I didn’t see it at first. They did.

And boom… 2020 happened.
Meal Prep by Cort was born.

I started because I love feeding people. I love helping people feel better. I love seeing results. But if I’m being honest… I was scared.

Scared of failing.
Scared nobody would order.
Scared I wouldn’t know enough.
Scared of putting myself out there in my own city.

But I kept going because every time someone told me,
“This was flavorful.”
“This filled me up.”
“I stayed on track because of you.”

I knew this was bigger than me.

And fun fact — if you don’t tell me how your meal was or I don’t hear back from you… I literally think I killed you. And that’s for real 😭😂 I be stressed until I see that “it was good!” text.

Detroit built me.
My fitness family pushed me.
My community believed in me before I believed in myself.
