After 3 years of teaching cooking classes at Eastern Market, as of September 2026, my contract with Eastern Market will be coming to an end.
For us, it has never been just about the food.
It has always been about connection and the joy we can spread through culinary education, engagement, love, togetherness, laughter, meeting new people, breaking down barriers, and simply having a wonderful time.
I want to sincerely thank every customer, friend, supporter, visitor, and person who ever stopped by or inquired about a class. During my time at Eastern Market, I had the extraordinary privilege of welcoming thousands of guests and teaching people from across Detroit, throughout Michigan, and beyond. That privilege has never been lost on me.
I am deeply grateful for every connection we made. The laughter, the learning, the fun, and the beautiful moments created while breaking bread together. I have watched strangers become friends and people form genuine connections within minutes. That is something truly special, and I am incredibly proud that Evelyn’s
Midtown Kitchen helped create those experiences.
Although my time teaching at Eastern Market is ending, my teaching is not.
Evelyn’s Midtown Kitchen will continue serving corporate clients and hosting private events. We will also find a new time and place for us to gather again, and I believe it will be soon.

That is how much I love teaching and giving back to the city and to the remarkable people I have had the privilege of meeting.
Our classes have always been, and will continue to be about connection, fun, and the joy of learning something new. This is not goodbye, and it is certainly not the last you will see of me. Stay tuned. There is so much more to come.
