Finally tried the matcha latte at EXPERIENCE MUSE and it's pretty good! Really wanted their lavender matcha but I got there after noon and they were out of lavender as well as a few sandwiches.

I settled for their strawberry matcha latte which was really smooth and delicious. And their caprese croffle surprised me with how good it tasted, just wished their chocolate croffle wasn't overdone but it's nothing that chocolate couldn't fix and I'm sure I just got unlucky there.

Gotta go back again next time to try their lavender matcha!

I love a good pastrami sandwich, and Eleven City Diner in Chicago definitely delivers where it matters πŸ₯ͺ

The portions here are generous! I ordered their pastrami sandwich and added a schmear of chopped liver, which made it even more delicious. I still prefer the thick cut pastrami at Katz's in NY, but the flavor here is excellent and more than enough to keep me coming back.

Ethan got a Reuben and asked for it open faced. It came out looking like a tiny sandwich at first, but don't be fooled, it was still a huge meal.

We also ordered drinks. Ethan went with a frozen vodka lemonade, while I got a vodka cocktail that arrived in a surprisingly large soda cup? They definitely don't do small portions here, but everything tasted great, and that's what matters!

They also serve all day breakfast and have a massive menu, but I know I'll always be back for the pastrami and corned beef sandwiches.

So what's your go to order at a deli?

Every time we visit Chicago, dim sum is a must! πŸ₯Ÿ

We've been going to MingHin in Chinatown for a while and it never disappoints. We've tried a few of their other locations, but the Chinatown branch is still my favorite.

Their har gao and siew mai are always on our table. They're consistently fresh, juicy, and delicious. Unfortunately this time they ran out of hae gao at 11am?! Which is another reason to come early if you're dining on a weekend. I also ordered youtiao (Chinese doughnut). It's not listed on the menu, but you can ask for it. It came out super crispy and was so good!

We also tried the cong you bing (scallion pancake). I wish it was a little crispier and less bready, but it was still very tasty.

I skipped the steamed glutinous rice and carrot cake this visit, but those are usually staples for us and definitely worth ordering if you're looking for recommendations.

For those familiar with Chicago's dim sum scene, where should I try next?

Visited the Money Museum in Chicago! πŸ’΅

Admission is completely free, and it was a surprisingly interesting place to learn about the history of US currency.

The highlight was definitely seeing $1 million inside a giant cube! We also got to see rare historical bills and learn some of the security features used to spot counterfeit money.

Before you leave, don't forget to pick up a free bag of shredded currency as a souvenir!

It's not a huge museum, but we took our time reading the exhibits and easily spent about an hour there.

One thing to note, the museum is located inside a federal building so be sure to bring a valid ID. You'll also need to go through a quick security screening, including having your belongings scanned through an Xray machine.

Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a free activity in downtown Chicago!

Satisfied my craving for Hainanese chicken rice in Chicago Chinatown! πŸ˜‹

Head down to the basement of HeungSeng Square building and you'll find a small Asian food court with several vendors serving different regional Chinese dishes. The place looks a little rundown, but don't let that fool you, the food is good!

I always order the poached Hainanese chicken rice from 3 Sauces. While the sauces are quite different from what I'm used to in Singapore, it still hits the spot whenever I'm craving a taste of home.

We also tried the chili oil noodles from the Sichuan Boiled Fish & Noodle stall, and they were delicious! Properly spicy and a very generous portion for just $11.90.

Next time, I'm definitely ordering their spicy sour fish soup.

Got breakfast from Kasama, a 2 Michelin star Filipino bakery and restaurant, and wow! now I understand why the lines are always so long!

πŸ’‘ Quick tip: If you're okay with takeout and want to skip the wait, place an online order right when they open. We arrived about 2 hours after ordering and were able to walk right to the front and pick up our food.

We ordered the Longanisa breakfast sandwich, their popular Ube and Huckleberry basque cake, a matcha pandan eclair and a Reggie Flores drink.

The longanisa was such a delicious twist on the usual breakfast sausage sandwich. It was so flavorful. The pastries were the real stars though! Both the basque cake and matcha pandan eclair were absolutely incredible. Perfectly made, rich in flavor, and easily some of the best pastries I've had in a while.

The Reggie Flores drink is a mix of calamansi juice and hibiscus tea and was super refreshing. I love calamansi because it has a brighter, tarter flavor than lemon.

Overall, Kasama absolutely deserves their 2 Michelin stars. They also serve dinner, but reservations are notoriously hard to get. I'll definitely be trying my luck the next time I'm in Chicago!

Starting our road trip to Chicago with breakfast from New York Bagel! πŸ₯―πŸš—

Ethan got the sausage, egg & cheddar on an everything bagel, while I ordered my favorite lox and chive cream cheese bagel sandwich loaded with onions and tomatoes.

Now we're fueled up and ready for the drive! πŸ˜‹

Was at Tiger Market and spotted the new football ice cream. It's cookies and cream flavored, so of course I had to try it!

I was pretty excited for this one, but honestly it didn't quite live up my expectation πŸ˜” The chocolate coating tasted a little cheap and the cookies and cream flavor was pretty underwhelming. Kinda disappointing because I really wanted to like it.

Thankfully, I also picked up a bunch of other snacks that were way better. The spicy shrimp chips and peanut puff rice were both really good!

Now I just need to work my way through everything else I bought. Can't wait to try the rest.

What do you usually get at Tiger Market?

just opened in the Sakura Novi area! They are right next to Klawsome and in the same lot as TESO Life!

Ethan and I got a drink each after some shopping and the cafe was busy! Lots of boba flavours on their menu but we ended up trying the spring special Sakura Milk Tea and Cloud Mango from their cloud series, and they were really good.

Non dairy substitutes are available - almond and oat milk and they only have 1 drink cup size at 22oz so it's a big drink!
