Really liking my new nails, black with blue cat eye so it shimmers under light. Posted a video in comments so you can see the shine!

Sadly my go to nail tech just moved out of state so I'm officially on the hunt for someone new.

I am specifically looking someone who truly excels at cat eye/magnetic polish and works with dip powder, preferably around the Troy area

Last Asian Night Market in Detroit! It rained that morning but that did not stop me from going early to secure the goods! Got my hands on Qilin's dumplings before it sold out and my strawberry tanghulu before the lines got insane!

Here's all the vendors for everything I tried!

Met up with some Singaporeans for dinner at Marrow in the Market! 🇸🇬❤️ Fellow Singaporean and owner, Ping Ho, was also able to join us despite her very busy schedule, which made the evening even more special.

Their charcuterie was delicious! I particularly liked the blueberry goat cheese. It has such a unique flavour and was really well made

We shared most of the dishes, so I got to try their rainbow trout in curry and Kansas City strip, which had been dry aged for 28 days. The plating was beautiful and both dishes tasted so good!
The tempura fried mushrooms and twice baked potato were great sides too

By this point I was already pretty full, but when I found out their desserts are made fresh in house, I knew we had to try them! 😂 We shared the black velvet tiramisu and strawberry short puff, and they were such a delicious way to end a wonderful night hanging out with friends.

Thank you, Ping Ho, for being such a wonderful host! The food was phenomenal and we had a great time, I am looking forward to trying brunch there soon!

Asian Street Food in Warren, Michigan just opened! 🎉 I stopped by during their grand opening and grabbed a few small bites to try.

🥔 The tornado potato (aka twister potato) was pretty good! The spirals are a little thick, but they taste like roasted potato wedges, which I really like.

🍢 The skewers were good too! They range from $4–$5 and come in pairs, which I actually love because it means I can try several different skewers without getting too full. And the salt & pepper ribs? Definitely ordering that again 🤤

🍜 Their seafood laksa noodle soup was just okay for me. It’s nice to see Singapore represented here, but I have to say the broth needs a stronger laksa flavour. They’ve put their own spin on it by using ramen noodles, which I actually don’t hate, and the seafood itself tasted good. I just wish the broth was spicier and more flavourful!

I also wish they had included some Filipino dishes on the menu, and maybe some dim sum for the Hong Kong side. That would make the menu even more fun to explore!

🚨 Reminder: The LAST Asian Night Market of the year is this Sunday, August 30!

I still remember attending the very first Asian Night Market. It was a much smaller event with just a handful of vendors at Eastern Market Shed 5 and now it has grown to fill both Shed 5 AND Shed 6! 🥹❤️

It’s honestly amazing to see how much this event has grown and how many people now come out to support it.

Just to clarify, I’m not the organiser, I’ve simply been a huge supporter of this event from the beginning. And though it's different from the night markets you find in Asia, I think the organisers have really captured the heart of what makes a night market special, community, food and bringing people together ❤️

So come on down this Sunday and let’s close out the last Asian Night Market of the year on a high! 🎉

Asian Street Food just opened in Warren Michigan! This is a casual spot with lots of small dishes on their menu that are great for sharing. Their skewers are around $4–$5 and come in pairs, and I really like their tornado potato and salt pepper ribs.

They do have larger dishes like noodles and fried rice, but I only tried their seafood Laksa noodle soup. It seems like this is their own take on laksa, so it was quite different from the Singapore laksa I’m familiar with. The broth was very light, and I personally prefer a bolder and spicier laksa flavour.

Jiang Nan Noodle House is definitely a great spot for noodles! 🍜 I got to watch them hand pull the noodles fresh, and you can even choose different noodle sizes for your dish.

Personally, I really liked their chili oil noodles. I found them much more flavourful than the braised beef noodles, although the broth in the braised beef noodles was just as good!

Their xiao long bao was ok, but I really enjoyed the scallion pancakes and rou jia mo. And I loved that their pan fried pork dumplings came with a lot of meat inside

This place is definitely no secret because it was busy when I visited! I originally wanted to try their braised pork intestine noodles, but they were already sold out 😢 So I guess I’ll have to come back early next time!

I tried the handroll sushi pop up at Kim Nhung Supermarket and WOW 🤤🍣

They had bluefin tuna, salmon, blue crab, spicy scallop and ebi fry! You can get 4 handrolls for just $18 and that includes the bluefin tuna! I seriously can’t tell you how delicious these were. Everything was so fresh!

Only available today August 23, from 1–5pm! So if you’re thinking about going, definitely check it out ASAP

And if you love it, PLEASE let them know! Maybe we can convince them to have their own sushi shop inside the food court 👀🍣

Also, I saw they have fresh durians too, so just a little PSA 😂😂
