A big thank you to Marcus of Pit Crew BBQ for hosting the 5th Annual Rib Cookoff in Durant, IA. It was a great event supporting the local volunteer fire department. We look forward to being there again next year!

Thank you to all of you who voted for our Appetizer as being the best entered in the competition!
Wild pheasant bacon wrapped jalepeno popper finished with our raspberry jalepeno jam.

Our appetizer is wild Pheasant jalepeno poppers with our raspberry chipotle glaze.
Food served at 1pm with judging at 3pm.

See all of you in Durant tomorrow for the Rib Cookoff supporting the fire department! As of now, the event is still on! Plenty of things to do in town for everyone so bring the family and enjoy some great food.

We are a participant this Saturday in Durant, IA for the Rib cookoff! We will also have some great apps for all of you to sample so come out and vote for your favorite. We will be giving away a temp pro dual wireless thermometer at our booth during the festival. Stop by and say hi to get signed up!

Happy Friday from Northern Wisconsin!
Today, we are teaching you how to make your very own simple syrup.

Charcuterie Board featuring Mattheisen’s Jalapeno Cheddar Venison Summer Sausage, North country mozzarella cheese, Fresh Blackberries and a Brandy Old Fashioned- the official Friday cocktail of Wisconsin.

How to make your our Simple syrup for your old fashioned:
1 cup water
1 cup Cane Sugar
1 teaspoon local honey
1 teaspoon cherry juice

Bring 1 cup of water to a boil.
Add honey and cherry juice. Stir 10-15 sec
Remove from heat.
Stir in cane sugar slowly until fully dissolved
Store in a mason jar and chill in refrigerator.

Sunday night we broke in the new grill with the family up north! Angus prime tomahawk ribeye, angus prime Picanha and Brazilian sausage.
Saturday was fish fry night featuring our walleye caught this past month on Lake Erie and Louisiana “mudbugs” soaked in a Cajun/butter bath.
