I am pleased to announce that THIS girl, my Toccoa, has finally given up her resistance to being a regular goat and started walking on a collar!

She let me set up her feet.

She let me pinch her down.

She even practiced maneuvers and only got upset a couple of times!

Woot!

Evie leaves next week for nationals, so some time of each day for the last couple of weeks has been dedicated to practicing for showmanship. Hopefully she and Pandora will do well!

I have been taking advantage and making Toccoa practice with her. I’ve even been stern with her!

And finally she has started walking better and setting up and acting like it is t her first time on land with feet. Haha.

Maybe she will be a show goat yet!

The spring show season is good for some cardio! Multiple days, multiple rings, multiple breeds, and bunch of children and all their goats. Yes! 🙌🏻

It’s safe to say my children get plenty of experience outside! Morning and night 365 days a year. 🥰

Good to know our goats and other farm critters are doing their part to improve our mental health!

Elly is definitely the one doing the lifting. But I think Cozy enables her by letting it happen! 🤣 How do you teach a goat to stop letting her teenage owner pick her up and tote her like a baby? Asking for a friend! 🤭

I mean, this will be a self-correcting problem. I don’t think Elly will be picking her up when she weighs over 100 pounds. But I keep reminding her that she is teaching Cozy habits she won’t appreciate when Cozy is a full-grown alpine.

Do your children teach the goat kids any bad habits??
