🐔 Big things are happening over at Caine’s Coop!

Dad Chicken Tender has been hard at work upgrading the run, making sure the flock is living the good life. Meanwhile, Little Chicken Tender picked out some new babies to help fill the spots left by a few feathered friends we lost during the winter and recent storms.

The possibility of parting ways with some of our ducks is still hanging in the air, and that’s a tough one. But one thing around here hasn’t changed…

🥚 Eggs. Eggs. Eggs.

Every single day, these girls are clocking in and doing their job. The coop may be growing, changing, and evolving, but it’s still keeping us stocked with farm-fresh breakfast and plenty of entertainment.

Well folks… the sunshine flipped the switch and these ladies said “time to clock in!” 💪 The girls are officially in FULL egg-laying mode, and the nesting boxes are working overtime again!

Longer days mean happier hens, and happier hens mean FARM-FRESH EGGS coming in hot every single day. And let me tell you — once you’ve had eggs straight from the coop, store-bought just doesn’t stand a chance.

Little coop education moment:
🥚 Fresh eggs have a natural protective coating (called the bloom) that helps keep them fresh longer.
🥚 Those deep golden yolks come from a good diet and happy chickens — not food coloring 😉
🥚 Eggs are packed with protein and nutrients that keep farm kids (and tired moms) fueled up.

Nothing beats collecting breakfast with muddy boots, loud chickens, and a proud kid running the coop. Small-town living at its finest ❤️

❄️🐔 January Winter Update 🐔❄️

When winter really settles in, chickens shift into energy-saving mode. Shorter daylight hours and colder temps mean their bodies focus more on staying warm and healthy rather than laying eggs — so it’s completely normal to see a drop in production this time of year.

A few things we’re doing during this deep freeze:
• Extra bedding to help insulate the coop
• Making sure water stays thawed and fresh
• Higher-protein feed and occasional warm treats
• Checking vents for good airflow without drafts

Happy, healthy birds always come before egg numbers. As daylight slowly increases, production will naturally rebound. Until then, we’re riding out winter one fluffy chicken at a time. 🐓❄️

New year, new clucks! We’re ringing in 2026 feeling egg-stra grateful and ready to lay down some serious goals — like more snacks, longer naps, and record-breaking egg counts. 🥚💪

Thanks for being part of our flock this past year. Here’s to a year full of good eggs, full coops, and no fowl moods.

🌡️🐔 The chicken tenders AND the birds are officially confused.
55 degrees in late December… excuse me, WHAT is happening?!

The girls must think it’s spring because egg production went absolutely eggs-tra yesterday.
🥚 20 EGGS. An all-time high!

These hens said, “Weather’s weird, but we’re still laying like pros.”
Someone tell Mother Nature to stop winging it!

🐔✨ Winter Wisdom from Caine’s Coop ✨🐔
As the temps drop, our girls stay tough! A few things you might not know:
• Chickens’ combs and wattles can get frostbite — so good ventilation really matters
• Cold doesn’t bother them as much as drafts do
• Extra protein snacks help keep them warm
• Snow… still suspicious to most chickens 😆

✨🐔 Caine’s Coop Update! 🐔✨
The day has finally come — the doors to the new Poultry Penthouse are officially open! The ladies were very skeptical at first and refused to go in… but Daddy Chicken Tender wasn’t having it. 😂

After a little gentle encouragement (and a whole lot of squawking), everyone tried out their new home for the night. What an experience that was!

Here’s to fresh bedding, fancy roosts, and our spoiled feathered queens settling into their upgraded digs. 🏡💛

🐔✨ Final touches are going on Caine’s Poultry Penthouse!

Opening day is this weekend, and our lovely layers are about to move into the newest addition—a true penthouse of coops, or so some might call it. 😄

Huge shoutout to Daddy Chicken Tender, who’s put in so much hard work these past few weekends to make this little chicken dream come to life. 💛🐓
