If you are ready to break out of your comfort zone and take your taste buds on a tropical vacation, plan your trip to Yummy Perú (1369 Headland Ave in Dothan) now! I had the Jalea with Peruvian Ceviche and as you can see- it was a seafood feast! Lots of fried fish and other seafood paired up with a brightly flavored ceviche. So many citrus notes that I could only think “tropical” as I was eating. Joe had the Lomo Saltado. This was beef sautéed with red onion, tomato, scallion, and garlic in a signature ginger soy sauce. SO MUCH FLAVOR! We tried a lot of things today, but I feel like I need to note the Picarones! These are crispy, doughnut-like desserts dripping with a house-made spiced syrup. WOW! Feel free to ask me any other questions about this place.. If you are looking for passion, authenticity, and big flavors- you have found it!

After my interview on Morning Mingle at WTVY News 4, I did in fact make the short trip down to Bird and Bean Coffee House (downtown Dothan). I carried in my cupcake that I snagged from Britt’s Southern Bakery and ordered a Vanilla Latte. This beautiful drink was like comfort in a cup. Flavored with house-made vanilla syrup, this latte definitely reminded me why we put Bird & Bean on our Noms Top 20 list! Pop in and give them a try if you’ve never been, and if you have been, you already know! ☕️

It was fun to be a part of Morning Mingle on WTVY News 4, but I also enjoyed meeting Britt’s Southern Bakery in the lobby. We chatted about food, Dothan Dragons soccer, and more as we waited to go in. I thought she had brought Mia and Zack a bouquet of flowers, but those are CUPCAKES y’all!! I was in fact able to snag one after the interview, and it tasted as good as it looks! Follow Britt’s page to see more amazing sweet treats!

The Noms Top 20 has been a lot of fun! If you look at these photos you can see why adding Nick’s Chophouse ( 256 N Foster in Dothan) to the list was a very easy decision. It was a birthday celebration for the Noms Mom, and Nick’s made it very special for her. We had Buffalo Chicken & Cheese Eggrolls, Scallops, Grilled Lambchops, Crème Brûlée, and the Lemon Ricotta Cake w/Blueberry Compote. Presentation goes without saying, but everything tastes as good as it looks. These plates are like culinary works of art! Check them out sometime if you haven’t yet!
