Happy New Year from the Caves Family and everyone here at Caves Cattle!
As we reflect on 2025, we’re still amazed that this year our cattle made their way to the states marked in red below. How incredible is this industry—that kids and families all across the United States are putting in the time, effort, and heart to create lifelong memories in the barn and in the show ring.
We are truly grateful for the support of our small cattle operation here in Southeast Iowa. We may not win every major show or travel to all the big ones (chores and kids never seem to end), but we will always be honest, work hard, and cheer you on to do your very best. We love working with families who value the same things we do, and we’re excited for the relationships still to come in 2026.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us and rooted us on. We want people to know that in the cattle industry, everyone matters—those in the dairy business, those on the production side, and those who enjoy the “showier” side of the industry. Too often, these areas are placed against one another, and we don’t believe that’s necessary.
No matter what kind of producer you are, this life requires an incredible amount of dedication, grit, and determination. It’s chore time in the pouring rain and blowing snow. It’s checking cattle in 100-degree heat to make sure a show heifer stays cool. It’s the heartbreak of losing a calf by mere seconds after months of hard work, time, and financial investment—doing everything you possibly could, feeling absolutely gutted, and still getting up the next morning because the rest of your herd depends on you.
No matter where you fit in this industry, we are all working hard, driven by responsibility and, hopefully, a deep love for the animals we care for.
So from our little farm in Southeast Iowa to wherever you may be—Happy 2026. Let’s cheer each other on, bring awareness to one of the greatest industries there is, and continue creating memories and moments that will last a lifetime.
