Over The Rainbow Ranch We are a high altitude/attitude ranch sitting at 7300 feet in the Northern Rockies of Colorado. We raise free range chickens and Mangalitsa pigs.

Well, I'll be the *last* to admit I made a mistake.🤷‍♀️ Zsa Zsa is probably not pregnant. Milk came in, but it appears to have dried up. I suspect a miscarriage. So, as hard as this is to say, she'll be transitioned to an all cereal grain diet to be slaughtered in the Fall. This is the harsh reality of the life we have choosen. She has lived an amazing life filled with watermelon, pumpkins, eggs, giant mud holes and free ranging on 5 acres. To everything there is a season...

I had a fiasco today
Our 30 chicks arrived healthy 2 days ago, but today one of my heat lamps kicked the bucket, killing 3 chicks. Thankfully a neighbor stepped in to help. Here's a baby that I'm nursing. I'm hoping she'll pull through after spending the night in isolation on a heat pad.
