Our July egg 🥚 count was 379!! That number should rise this month, as we have several new ladies just starting to lay!

We have:
🦆Duck eggs
🐓Large Chicken eggs
🐣Bantam (small) Chicken eggs

When we started our small homestead, our immediate goal was to provide for our family. One less thing we had to buy from the store. We know exactly what our animals eat. We know the conditions our animals live in.

Our secondary goal is to share our abundance with our neighbors and community. As much as I would LOVE to gift eggs to anyone who asks, there are daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly costs associated with livestock. Not to mention the time and sweat I personally put in to take care of our animals. I LOVE gifting eggs when I can! But I unfortunately cannot gift them all.

With that said, if anyone is ever truly in need, I will be more than happy to work something out with you! I don't ever want someone to go hungry.

Our total egg count for May 2026 was... 477!!
Our YTD egg count is 1635 😱 Our ladies are hard at work! Come fall, we'll have some new layers.

When my parents said "you can have whatever animals you want when you're an adult in your own house", I really took that to heart. Went out for chicken feed, came home with feed and a new TSC purse! I've looked alllllll season for black copper marans, and FINALLY found some! Half off too! Last shipment of chicks our local store will have this year.

If the 10 eggs my 3 broodies have, end up hatching, that'll bring our total chicken count to 45 I think?! Plus our 9 ducks!
