Mike & Kimberly Tenoever have a long history of historical restorations and historical metals. Out of all the historical metals, Zinc was the one that called their name. Zinc is a long lasting, maintenance free metal that has an unparalleled warmth and depth. Zinc just happens to be an essential component to the good health of yeast! s first house his house would be wrapped in custom made Zinc panels. In 2002, Mike purchased 45 acres of raw undeveloped land and in 2006, he built his first house complete with Zinc Cladding on all of the walls and roofs and this is what has become The Zinc House! In 2008, Mike along with Kimberly started venturing out to various vineyards, wineries and breweries throughout NC and Virginia. Their minds were immediately transfixed by the experience of sitting outside with a bottle of wine, enjoying nature, and learning about their new passion. The idea of building a winery was born in 2009 and it was then that they began to slowly transform the land into the vision they had for this winery. They took wine courses, made kit wines, brewery courses and started brewing beer. In 2010 Mike & Kimberly made their lifelong commitment to each other while floating in a hot air balloon slowly drifting over the expansive Russian River Valley in Napa. For the next 12+ years they continued to refine their love for wine and craft beer while working to build out this dream that has now become Zinc House Winery & Brewery. Today the property has a total of 87 acres complete with vineyards, multiple event spaces, winery, brewery and massive roof decks that allow for incredible views of the Vineyard and Estate. One of the big drivers for this vision is the love that Kimberly and Mike have for this land. They want to share their love for this land by creating a space where people can fall away from the daily pressures of their lives and come away feeling inspired and with a sense of peace.

It’s another great week at ZincHouse! Kick off September with Whiskey Wednesday and Country Night, then keep the good times going with live music, food trucks and plenty of ways to enjoy the week. Friday brings our weekly The Art of Wine: A Tasting Experience at 7 PM, with live music all evening. Come grab a drink, stay for the music and enjoy everything ZincHouse has to offer across 89 acres of beautiful scenery.

Come spend an evening with Evidential Medium Kate O’Brien Mackie for a chance to connect with your loved ones from the other side.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of spirit connections, healing, and of course, wine. This event will likely sell out, so don’t wait!

Nationally recognized Evidential Medium and founder of Blue Heron Healing, Kate O’Brien Mackie will share as many spirit connections as time allows, providing clear evidence and healing messages from loved ones in Spirit. While not everyone will receive a personal reading, these events are often deeply moving and meaningful for everyone in attendance.

Doors open at 6:15 PM, giving guests time to settle in, grab a glass of wine, and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere before the event begins promptly at 7:00 PM.

September may have snuck up on me, but I’ve been looking forward to this Wednesday (9/2). We happened to get our hands on a bottle of EH Taylor Single Barrel and we feel like sharing!

EH Taylor bourbons are made with Buffalo Trace’s mash bill #1, which is also used in Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, and Stagg. Despite having the same mash bill, Taylor is tends to exhibit more of the butterscotch, cinnamon, and ripe apple notes as compared to the toffee, orange peel, and dark fruit notes of Eagle Rare. This iteration of EH Taylor, on top of being a single barrel selected for exception flavor, is bottled-in-bond, meaning it is a full 10 proof stronger than its avian cousin.

Aaaand, it’s harder to get, but you know that already.

As with every Whiskey Wednesday, we sell the featured whiskey at-cost (limit one per person while supplies last — in this case, I only have the one bottle). That said, come get your 1oz pour for $3.30! While you’re here, definitely check out our new (as of 9/2!) featured cocktails. And who knows, maybe I’ll throw out something extra?

Each Friday, our ZincHouse Wine Experience Directors, Dave Fleming or Diana David, will lead an upscale tasting and educational journey through 5 of our ZincHouse wine offerings.

If you find something you love- all wine bottles are 10% off the night of tasting. 🍷
