The old farmhouse

There'll be a party at the old farm house.
A big party with food and drinks and kids running around
And a big bonfire, the last one
burning up old tree stumps and fallen limbs,
lumber from the corn crib, barn and shop.

The farm sold.
The buildings torn down, even the house,
too old to save, ready to fall apart,
pushed into a hole in the ground.
The land turned over
plowed into neat rows
of beans and corn and memories.

This old house is getting ready for a big family reunion. Elizabeth Thebiay Moklebust will be 100 years young on May 1st, and practically the entire clan will be here to celebrate on that weekend!
