Happy Friday, since we’re closed this weekend I figured I would properly introduce Sibby our organic sourdough starter💛
Sibby is the heart of everything we make, she’s almost 2 years old and is thriving!! When I decided I wanted to start my sourdough journey I knew I wanted to grow my starter from scratch, just to really seal the deal of the whole experience😂
I’m glad I started my journey this way, everyday when I would get home from work it was exciting to check and see if there was any new progress! I started her in the fall months so my house was extra cold and it took 3 weeks to a month to see consistent progress.
Now, for how she got her name, the first time she ever overflowed her jar, Mat said she looked like a symbiote from Venom, so we shortened it to Sibby, and the rest is history.🖤 We’re big Marvel fans over here!
Almost two years later, and it’s still crazy to think that something that started with just flour and water has become such a big part of my everyday life. Every loaf, bagel, english muffin, focaccia, muffin, and so many other goodies start with a little bit of Sibby, and it’s pretty special to think about how far this little starter has come💛🌾
