Found out from Plum Pepper's DNA coat color test that she's ED/ E+. Thought that meant she can only have a black & white or wild type calf? 🖤 Interestingly enough, two out of her four calves are red (not wild type). I did not DNA the bull calf since he was sold, but I still have her heifer, Spicy Paprika, and she's E+/e. But she's red. Shouldn't her wild type be expressed? (FYI- Pepper's last calf, Salty Caramel, is showing brindle now and tested E+/E+.)

I am (finally) receiving my results back from Neogen and trying to score my herd. For those of you who have done this testing, when comparing my herd's numbers to "All Herds", what cattle are they being compared to? Is this against all cattle in their data base or only those labeled "OT" (other)?
And are there traits that I should rate low/ disregard for longhorns (like marbling)?
