Something new is coming to East Montpelier and the greater Barre-Montpelier community this Halloween!
Over the past several weeks, members of our community have been working together to create a new, locally built Halloween experience. We reached out to financial institutions for support to help make the experience even bigger this first year. While we werenβt successful in securing that support, we werenβt about to let that stop us.
With neighbors, volunteers and local businesses pitching in, we are excited to introduce:

Jimβs vintage Vermont barn and collection are being transformed for Halloween with haunted scenes, creepy characters, spooky sounds, and plenty of surprises.
If you aren't familiar with Jimβs work, check out the photos. They give you an idea of the creativity behind this event, and that's before we turn the lights off. π

For those willing to venture beyond the barn, take a trip through the Candy Meadow. Choose an easy or medium walking path, stop by the warming pits and collect some candy along the way while supplies last. π¬π₯ (admission, your bravery)
It might look like a peaceful Vermont meadow during the dayβ¦
But who knows what happens after dark? π(admission for the walk, .... just your bravery)

On Saturdays and Sundays, we're making this more than just a haunted attraction. Come early, grab some food, spend some time with the communityβand then see whether you're brave enough for the barn.

We are still looking for volunteers, donations, decorations, props and community partners who want to help us make our first year something special.
The admission charge helps offset the cost of props, gadgets, materials and the significant amount of time going into putting the Haunted Barn together.
We also want to recognize the local businesses and community members who have already stepped forward to help.
A special thank you to Creative Vision for contributing lawn care and excavation services to help prepare the property. They also provide snow-removal services throughout the winter. β€οΈ
This is Year One. We're starting locally, we're building it together, and we'd love to see this become an annual Central Vermont Halloween tradition.
