We’re usually pretty whimsical around here.
But this isn’t a whimsical thing.
The recent coverage surrounding the sexual assault allegations at Cornell has brought up some hard truths. Hard feelings. And for so many women, memories of moments when we didn’t feel safe, or weren’t safe.
Far too many women have a story.
A time she was followed.
A time she was afraid to walk to her car.
A time someone crossed a line.
A time she was assaulted.
A time she said no and it wasn’t respected.
A time she wondered if she would be believed.
And far too often, women have been expected to carry those experiences quietly.
We don’t want to be quiet.
So we created I AM JANE DOE as a small act of solidarity, remembrance and resistance.

100% of proceeds from every I AM JANE DOE candle will be donated to Vera House in Syracuse, supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
This candle is for every woman who has ever been made to feel like her experience was too uncomfortable, too complicated or too inconvenient to talk about.
