Molting season means getting half the eggs as usual. These girls are using most of their protein to regrow their feathers that they are losing right now, which means less eggs. I'm doing all that I can to give the girls what they need 🫶🥚🪶

🐔🍂 Molting season is here!

Our girls are busy growing fresh new feathers, and that takes extra protein! 💪🐓 So we’re giving them a little protein boost to help support those beautiful new feathers.

And if the egg basket looks a little emptier than usual, don’t worry—hens naturally lay fewer eggs while molting because their bodies are putting that energy into feather production. 🪶🥚

Basically, they’re on a feather-renovation vacation! 😂🐔
