Last week, I sat down on FB to check my messages. The first post I see is one from a fellow chicken tender with a Flyer that read: "A Place to Land". I knew she was a local Silkie Breeder so I read the Flyer. As I continued, my heart became full, I never thought anyone would do it. I know I thought about it; breeding your own line has its downfalls, it's not easy... and sometimes the reward does not outweigh the heartbreak... SHE STARTED A SANCTUARY! I knew that my disabled trio would benefit tremendously and hopefully bring their family some joy so I messaged immediately! Her response was "We'd be honored to have them here" π₯Ή Mr Hobbs, Peggy and Sugar (Shugg) just hit the JACKPOT! Alissa and I rode out to drop off the trio a couple evenings later and donated their litte home (The Tiny Raptor). Thank you Bailey Cline, and family for giving my three the best possible outcome, give Shugg a snuggle for me! If anyone who sees this wants to donate feed or supplies, Im sure it would be greatly appreciated!
Chilly snugs with Shuggs πβ¨
This girly has won my heart with a quickness, all 3 of them have, but I just can tell sheβs special. She completely relaxes and just sits in my lap or snuggles on my chest like a baby. Iβm so lucky I got the opportunity to love her π₯Ή
My goal is to make them as happy, comfortable, and LOVED as possible. Comfortable takes time, especially with chickens. Our standard flock is used to our shenanigans, and knows we love them. But with the newbies, I know that will take time. Thankfully there are 3 things we have in abundance here: time, love, and energy. Glory be to Him for allowing me to steward to these animals and showing me, through Kevin, what I can and am meant to do.
