Weāre about to spill some tea. LITERALLY. āš And we might ruffle a few tea leaves along the way.
One of our favorite things to do when people visit JC+KTeas is a little show-and-tell.
We take a commercially packaged tea bag, cut it open, and dump the contents onto a lid.
Then we reach for one of our own blends, My Name Is Earl, our take on the classic Earl Grey.
Beautiful, whole-leaf black tea. Gorgeous blue and white cornflowers. Leaves you can actually SEE, appreciate, and watch unfurl as they steep.
And then we ask one simple question:
Which one would YOU rather have in your cup?
The reactions we get in the shop are PRICELESS.
Now, before anyone gets their tea bags in a twist, letās be clear. Smaller tea particles arenāt necessarily bad tea. They steep differently, and thereās absolutely a place for convenience.
But it DOES raise an interesting question.
When youāre paying premium prices for tea, what exactly are you paying for?
The fancy packaging? The recognizable name? The convenience? Or the actual tea?
Weāre not here to tell you what you should drink. Weāre here to encourage you to get CURIOUS about what youāre drinking.
Thatās why, when you visit our shop, we WANT you to open the jars. Stick your nose in there. Take a big olā sniff. Look at the ingredients. Ask us questions.
Because we believe tea should be an experience, not just something you dunk in hot water.
And listen, we appreciate a gorgeous tea tin as much as the next tea nerd.
In fact, weāve got a suggestionā¦
Buy it for the tin. Come to us for the tea. š
Now, we want to hear from YOU.
Are you Team Tea Bag or Team Loose Leaf? And have you ever actually opened a tea bag to see whatās inside?
Letās talk tea.
slow down. sip life. (re)fill your cup.
