Our early morning visitors. We have had quite a few whitetail hanging out close to the house this year. They are curious and like to watch us for a minute before they huff and run off.

Do we watch birds or do they watch us?

We got a bunch of planting done on the farm. Salvaged some cattle panels, an old gate, and other materials to fence in our berries. It will be affectionately called "Grandpa's Berry Patch" in honor of Grandpa Burgin and Grandpa Johnson. ❤️

Started a dozen black walnut saplings in buckets and some peppers, tomatoes, and herbs in planters.

We have a ton of rock, mostly sandstone, just below the surface, and it required some creativity to break it up. Good thing Patrick excels in that area and he brought out the air hammer, which was much easier than swinging the pick axe.

I love repurposing things that we have on hand instead of buying everything new. It may have some dents or not be perfect, but it gets the job done! I see a much bigger garden in our future!

We will never get tired of this view. 🩷

We received about 3.5 inches of rain with more on the way. This dude decided our creek is a great place to surf. I can't believe how big these snapping turtles can get!

Three months into 2026, I didn't think I would have beef with the bluebird of happiness, yet here we are. This happy couple is expecting, and without asking, they decided the Jeep spare tire is an excellent place to set up the nursery. After several heated discussions, and some well-placed aluminum foil, the nursery has been relocated to one of the many available birdhouses that are nearby.

Congratulations to the happy couple. 🐦🐦
