Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration held on May 5 to celebrate Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862, led by General Ignacio Zaragoza.

FUN FACT;
• According to the California Avocado Commission, eighty-seven million pounds of avocados are consumed on Cinco de Mayo.
• In Mexico, Cinco de Mayo celebrations are more prominent in the state of Puebla, where the battle took place.

* This is NOT when they gained their Independence Day! Mexico 🇲🇽 did not gain their independence until September 16.
