A few fun random Saturday photos. It's been a rough few weeks around here with more than 1 family emergency recently including my husband being out of the farming game for 4-6 weeks following emergency surgery. Trying to keep up with my job, grad school, children and a farm isn't going so well so this page has been on the chopping block of priorities. Hopefully things are settled down and I'll get back on track.

The downside of farming. 3 years ago we lost the first breeding doe my kids bought. A sweet beautiful girl that we loved dearly. We spent a lot of time and effort (not to mention money) trying to save her but our best efforts were not enough.

Sweet and silly doe looking for a new home. 2 year old full boer, not registered but she comes from good breeding stock. Her mother has successfully kidded 3 times, and nursed triplets. Doe is very friendly, she'll make a great pet and easy breeder for show projects for a family. We also have an older doe that can go with her as a companion. If she isn't sold in the next couple days she's headed to auction. We unfortunately need to downsize our herd. Located in elizabethtown pa, willing to meet for the right buyer.

Meet the herd Monday: 4 for 1 special this week. Santana, one of the first goats to be born on our farm. Part of a set of triplets from our first registered doe and herd namesake Haisley. After losing their mother we decided Santana and her 2 sisters would remain permanent members. This sweet former bottle baby became a first time mom this year. Following in her mommas footsteps she had a rough pregnancy (with a thankfully different outcome than her mom had) and birthed 3 kids earlier this month. Tiny Mae, (the runt who takes after her aunt Lady Mae, a former runt), Stinky,(I don't question my children when they pick names) and Banana Jr (because his moms nickname is Banana, iykyk).

Happy national agricultural day! So grateful my kids want to continue our family legacy.

Meet the herd Monday! : Our momma girl Thunder. She's carried two triplets pregnancies for us including successful nursing. (Which not all goats can do). She's full boer but not registered, originally got to be a companion for our registered doe and to hedge our bets on kidding some 4h wethers. But she quickly stole our hearts and proven herself to be a quality doe. She's thrown us some nice show wethers that have done quite well at fair. She's sweet but a little sassy. Loves to be outside and strangely for a goat is not a big fan of treats, she'd rather have grass and weeds.
*also for anyone interested her daughter is available for sale*
