In the small little town of Doniphan, Ne, a family came together to create a once a month gathering spot fueled by the tastiest ice cream concoctions. There is a baker, an ice cream scientist, generations of family working it, and a whole lotta love behind these recipes!

We’ve known this family for a long time and they truly are some of the greatest humans to support. So take a day trip, indulging in the tastiest ice cream treats, while enjoying the community gathered here! It’s so good for the soul! 🙏🏻😋❤️❄️🍦🥧🍪☀️

What began by a middle school teacher in Hastings, Ne with a grant for this dome, has grown into a magical place for it’s community! HMS Garden

A place where kids can come to learn, community members gather to harvest, work, and have meals together. An outdoor mud kitchen and play structure for kids, a wetland trail to explore, places to sit and just enjoy the magic of the working insects, so many pollinators and beauty of flowers!

Can you imagine if every middle school had one of these!? How amazing would that be!? It truly takes a very dedicated and passionate teacher to do all of this, and then a hard working community of volunteers as well! Well done Hastings!!! You are all amazing! 🥰☀️💪🙏🏻

Took our teacher lunch today and stayed for a lunch date with my youngest! These days are soon to be over and I can honestly say I never took the time to do them enough 😳

Here were the requests:

Teacher: Mediterranean salad with a side of chicken and of course I added a side of humus and pita because you cannot eat Meddy’s without it! 😜

Ledger requested salmon and a salad!

I got the tabbouleh salad and shared the hummus and pita!

Great little Tuesday lunch leaving me feeling healthy and satisfied! Meddys

I met Danah and her dad Farmers Market of Gretna where they are every Saturday and loved their energy and story as much as I loved the product!

So having Danah at our block party was a must! 😋

She was busy and so was I…I didn’t get much time to chat with her but made sure everyone got over to try her delicious dessert!

My kids told me yesterday that Danah told them 7lbs of mango where in the tub she was scooping from and that their head weighed about 8lbs…Ok I love her even more now! 😜She was hard at work and still engaging and educating kids on her product! She’s just the BEST!!! ☀️

Book her for upcoming grad parties, school festivals, weddings, and any other celebrations! You will not be disappointed! ❤️

Why Community Matters!

Did you know there has been a decline in “The Village” since the 1990’s and a loss of neighborhood trust. Times have changed, parenting has changed, and neighborhoods have changed.

But it doesn’t have to continue this way! Take the lead and start planning a night where everyone can come together and meet their neighbors! 🥰

Such a fun night thanks to all these vendors! Everyone came together old and new to mingle and let the kids roam through bounce houses, face painters, Kareoke, and food! Already thinking of ideas for next year! 😍

Want something sweet, but healthier!? 😅

Here ya go!

In a pan on the stove, mix up:
~1/2 C peanut butter (natural only peanuts and salt)
~1/2 C ghee (or butter, could also use coconut oil)
~1/3 C brown sugar (optional, make sure it dissolves without burning)
~1tsp vanilla

In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients. (And if you have a food processor, can do all nuts/seeds, dates to make them finer)
~1/2C chopped dates or other dried fruit
~1/2 C pepitas
~1/2 C toasted almonds
~1/4 C h**p seeds
~1/4C sunflower seeds
~2Tbs bee pollen C & Czzz Bzzz

~4 1/2C Rice Krispies Nature’s Path Organic

Place in a parchment lined pan, press down firmly. Refrigerate at least 1hr!

Benefits of bee pollen:
Rich in antioxidants, nutrients, and immune support.

My 7th grader doesn’t ask for a phone anymore…if it’s about protecting their brains, they can’t argue that. The studies keep coming out these days.

You can get them a phone if you want to keep track of them…it doesn’t need to be a smart phone. 💪
