Rough morning...turned All day. Large heifer born in the worst weather of this winter. Wet snow the day before, freezing rain and wind overnight, and she was born in cold wet icy mud around 3am. We didn't find her until after 9 am severely hypothermic. Old milk barn heater, dog blanket (a really good blanket) and a half bale of straw, along with vigorously rubbing. HOURS later, about 2-3 am, she wiggled out of her cocoon ...a nearly normal calf!

She still has to stand, but she drank a half bottle (milked from her mom), no stomach tube needed. So not completely well, but SO much better than when we found her.

One 700 # steer may be available soon for freezer. Butcher and date have not been arranged. If whole or half you get to fill out the butcher cut request form. If only a quarter, you can get front or hind, or an approximate of half of the packages as I order them cut.

Good morning everyone! Preparations have been under way since last week. Final touches this morning with the volunteers 💓. We are excited to see everyone and blessed you all are sharing this special day with us!

No official offer on the farm, but another showing scheduled for mid week. A fixer upper is available in the Ellensburg area that we went to see. It has possibilities.
